Fowlers Chagford - Chagford

40 The Square, Newton Abbot, Devon TQ13 8AB

30-05-2008

Excellent service from Fowlers. We rent our home from them. Philip and his assistant Jane are lovely people. They make sure they know exactly what you want and then somehow find the right place for you. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Philip will take you for a viewing at anytime of the day, even Sundays (after he’s been to church that is)!

I recommend them whole heartedly.

Chagford Library - Newton Abbot

Jubilee Hall Chagford, Newton Abbot, Devon TQ13 8DP

30-05-2008

Chagford Library is attached to the left side of Jubilee Hall, opposite St Michael’s Church. It is run by Erica who is a real sweetie. She knows everything’ish! She knows what books you like and offers advice as to which book you may like, she id helpful to everyone from Kiddies to Grandmas. The library has 2 computers you can book, 1st half hour is free but each half hour after that is £2.00. Printing 12p per copy. It is only a small library but Erica will order books for you and also tapes, cd’s and talking books. As it is quite a away from Exeter and Okehampton it’s handy for all sorts of things - Even a chat!!!

Burbage Liberal Club - Hinckley

21 Lutterworth Road, Hinckley, Leicestershire LE10 2DJ

The Liberal Club is other end to the Constitutional Club. It’s got a nice Lounge and stage area a “Children’s” room with darts board, fruit machines and a snug. A large upstairs room for functions. They have Bingo twice a week and they have a Darts and Domino’s Team. The Lounge is very nice but the other rooms (including the “Function Room” leave a lot to be desired as does the outside. It could do with a make-over from ITV!
The people are very friendly but I do think that if they are going forward they must spend some money on the place.

If the club was revamped and had real ales they would get more custom, I really think though that time has stopped in there and could do with new blood. It’s a shame as parking in Burbage is precious and the Liberal Club has got a decent car park which most of the businesses would love to have.

If anyone is connected to Changing Rooms or 60 minute makeover, try giving them a helping hand.

Electrical Contractors Jonathan Brutnall & Co - Hinckley

167 Upr Bond Street, Hinckley, Leicestershire LE10 1RT

Fantastic service from the electrical dept. I had an old 1950’s type heater which needed a part. I gave them the information and within seconds they said that they had the part, what’s more they delivered it free of charge! It was only a small part but they were tremendous. I have friends who use them all the time for electrical work. I have nothing but praise for them. I would recommended them at anytime as an honest and hard working company (Not too tea breaks)!

Burbage & District Constitutional - Hinckley

Constitutional Club Church Street, Hinckley, Leicestershire LE10 2DE

I lived in Burbage for 18 years and it is very friendly village. The “Connie” Club in my opinion was the best place to meet the people. It has been revamped and the range of beers are very good, as are the staff. I would recommend the club to anyone who visits the area.
