One of the best sushi places I have eaten at in London. All clearly fresh. The sashimi was cut perfectly and was of a high quality.
We also ordered the spring rolls, gyoza, seafood ramen and chicken udon. All full of flavour. We like it so much we ordered everything again (thank god for tastecard’s 241 deal).
The service was quick – the tables were really close together however. You can hear everything the person next to you is saying in all its graphic details which was quite entertaining.

One of my favourite restaurants in Soho. A perfect place to take a date or to catch up with a mate over lunch. The small tapas styled Venetian food makes it a great experience to take a date and share plates of food along with the cosy surroundings. If you can, it’s great to get a window seat so you can watch the hustle of Soho down below.
My top dishes include the zuccini fries, chickpea bruschetta, cuttlefish ink dish, mini pizzas and the pork shoulder.
My only comment would be that I prefer actual wine glasses as apposed to the tumblers they serve the wine in.
Will def be heading back again soon… next Tuesday in fact :)

My favourite of the three restaurants run by Will Smith (not the actor). The other restaurants being Wild Honey and Le Deux Salon.
I dined here on the pre-theatre deal which is extremely reasonable for a Michelin star restaurants. Well, that was the plan until we met our fanatic waiter and gave some suggestions off the a la carte, and I’m glad he did!
I started with the crisp pigs head, spinach and turnip salad which I thought was going to look grotesque on the plate, but of course it was made up of all the fleshy parts of the face, presented in a need little block and sad beautifully on the plate. My companion had the squid and mackerel ‘burger’, parsley, razor clams, sea purslane. I snuck a little taste of it and it was delicious!
The mains consisted of roast rabbit, shoulder cottage pie, artichokes, carrots and pancetta for me and cod fillet dish for my vegetarian friend. Again the presentation was stunning with the taste just as good!
The staff really look after you here and I often recommend this place to friends who would like a romantic meal, a small get together of friends or a bite to eat at the bar before hitting Soho.
I will be returning… pictures to follow soon.

i went to Hed Kandi two weeks ago. The music, performers, happy & social crowd made this an epic night. the club was open until 6, ended up leaving at 5 as had to stay for one more drink as the perrformers played trumpets, drums and dancers entered the big champagne glass. I drank water most of the night (still expensive) as didn’t want t leave the dance floor.
I gets VERY busy they realy do pack them in. £20 entry and we had a table so minimum spend of £500. If you get a table make sure there is a big group of you – there was a lot of us so the cost was spread out.
Feels like your on holiday.

Superb steaks and accompanying wine.
Tip of the day: Go for the taster board for the dessert to try all of their desserts on one board.
Hawksmoor Guildhall - City of London

The third restaurant to open under the Hawksmoor brand opened this week next to Guildhall in the city of London.
The underground space is lovely and open but still has a warm feeling to it with the earthy wood and leather interior.
Enough of the decor and down to the food – as you can expect the food is the star attraction and it didn’t disappoint! Starter of stilton and bacon mussels were rich but oh so tasty, served with a big wedge of bread to mop up the juices. The mussels were only outdone by the Belly Ribs that had been cooking for 5 hours and just fell apart with the side of a fork – amazing! We also tried the bone marrow and potted smoked mackerel. Both so flavoursome and lined the stomach nicely for the main course. STEAK, and lots of it.
We opted for the 1kg Bone-in Prime Rib and 900g Porterhouse steaks between four with a variety of sides. Carrots, brussel sprouts, onion rings, creamed spinach, triple fried chips, mushrooms, beef dripping chips, bernaise sauce and peppercorn sauce. This was a lot of food! It was a challenge that we stepped up to and demolished the lot. Highlight of the sides for me were the sprouts, beef dripping chips and the peppercorn sauce.
After eating all that food we were presented with the dessert menu, and went for it again. Bramley apple pie with custard, Trinity burnt cream (creme brulee), Ice cream sundae and a chocolate dessert. The waiter also supplied a number of the ice-creams for us to try which was a nice touch.
The waiter, Peter, was really knowledgeable and made a great wine suggestion to go with the meal. A great asset to Hawksmoor and a genuinely nice guy.
Hawksmoor Seven Dials used to be my favourite restaurant in London, now it has some competition in Hawksmoor Guildhall!
ChivalrousGent Glad you enjoyed it so much ;) and next time I’ll give you even better wine.

A whole FREE pizza with every drink ordered at the bar.
They have a pizza oven at the back of the bar where you swap your ticket over for a whole cheese pizza.
You can’t get much better than that people….

Go for the view - the best you will see of the Empire State building.
The decor is straight out of the 80s/90s with a stuffed tiger and purple felt.
The quadruple espresso with double espresso mixed with double espresso vodka is potent and will do the job of waking you up...

Went during Restaurant Week - the service was impeccable and the food just as food. tuna tartar followed by a deliciously flaky cod dish.
Would highly recommend this restaurant as a must see in the Meatpacking district for Lunch or Dinner.

This place draws somw BIG name DJs so keep an eye on their website to see who will be playing soon. In the space of two weeks i saw Pete Tong and Carl Cox. With it being such a small venue it is the best opportunity to see your fav DJs producing their magic up close and personal.
Security is tight on the way in so not a place to be messing around. Chill and enjoy the music!
