Worcester Cathedral - Worcester

8 College Yard, Worcester, Worcestershire WR1 2LA

16-11-2008 (updated on 30-11-2008)

Amazing building with a lovely atmosphere when inside and looks great every time i drive past. Theres lot to look at both inside and out. Got some lovely pictures of it in the snow. Really enjoyd looking around on a cold winters day.

The crypt is very interesting, and is well lit although it feels quite creepy and normally feels very cold!

We didn’t get up to the tower, but Im sure it would be very good because the views are supposed to be good.

Worth a trip if your in the area, and is easily accessible from town.

The Gandhi Indian Cuisine - Exeter

Use this alot for work does and evenings out with friends. Great place to meetup, great fun and great food! The staff are always friendly and food is served promtly.

Its a lovely quite confined atmosphere, with enough space to accommodate everyone we have needed to, despite it being quite small.

Its well decorated in quite a modern way with lots of nice lighting.

Food is very well priced for the amount of food you get and is very tasty.

Its out of town a little so easy to find and easy to park in the evenings.

It would be adviable to book before hand, especially at the weekend.

The Quay Antique Centre - Exeter

The Quay, Exeter, Devon EX4 3QY

17-11-2008 (updated on 30-11-2008)

Certainly an interesting place, with lots to look at.

The building contains some very interesting antiques, with lots to look at including paintings, china, furniture.

The shop is sectioned, with each person renting a section to show there antiques off.

Some things can be quite expensive, however there are soom good bargains to be had and its great fun looking through all the stuff. We certainly spent along time looking all around and purchased a few interesting items.

Its open 7 days a week, 10am to 5pm in the winter, and 10am to 6pm in the summer from easter onwards,

tk maxx - Exeter

Unit 3, The exbridge Centre, Exeter, Devon EX4 1AH

As with most TK Maxxs there are lots and lots of clothes in a rather unorganised organised fashion. Although it took me a while to find the section I wanted, I soon came to it, and found some very good bargains. I love the fact that you never know what you might find and when you do find something its quite special at a discount price.

The shop is easy to move around, easily accessible and also contains house hold items, although i have never found anything particularly interesting.

The staff are helpful if you want to try and find something in particular.

Castle Place Shopping Centre & Market - Trowbridge

Castle Place Shopping Centre, Castle Place, Trowbridge, Wiltshire BA14 8AL

29-11-2008 (updated on 30-11-2008)

The Castle Place shopping centre used be quite smikey before the smoking ban, although its now much improved. However it seems in recent years the turnover of shops has been quite high with shops often opening and closing and being replaced with other shops quite quickly That said its often interesting to see what shop next fills the gaps.

The market contains a wide range of goods and the stall holders are always friendly and can answer my questions. There is a stall selling all types of material, the music one, one selling smoking implements and lots more. I enjoy looking round the music exchange one becaus you never know what to expect!

woolworths - Dawlish

Dawlish, Devon EX7 9JP

29-11-2008 (updated on 30-11-2008)

Although it’s only a small Woolworths it’s one of the largest shops in Dawlish which stocks everything thats needed.

The shop is well laid out with lots to look at. Some of the items are very good priced, and sometimes the price you pay at the till is less than the price that was shown on the ticket!

Unfortuantely it is under threat of closure now after Christmas due to the financial issues with Woolworths, but hopefully someone will save it, since its one of the key shops in Dawlish.

As with most small towns the staff are friendly and always willing to have a chat.

The Vigilance - Brixham

Wetherspoons always go pretty good food at very cheap prices, with a good selection of drinks. This one is no different. Although it seems quite dark because it goes quite a long way back ,it does offer a good evening out with a few friends when you don’t want to go all the way to Torquay. Its quite big so doesn’t get really packed like some places.

Its good fun on New Years Eve when everyone dresses up in lots of different outfits!

There is a wide range of drinks on offer including cocktails, beers, ales, wines and shots as you would expect with most pubs.

Phantasialand - Brühl

Berggeiststr. 31, 50321 Brühl

I visited this theme park a few years back when i was on an exchange and found it great! I loved it because it doesnt get quite as busy as Alton Towers or Disneyland so the queues are much shorter which means you can go on more rides.

The rides were good and exciting although im sure some have been replaced now with better ones. There were lots of good places to eat.

Unfortunately I cant remember much more other than I had an excellent day and really enjoyed the German Hotdogs!

There was a theme tune that was really catchy and still find myself weirdly singing it again years later.

Tesco Metro - Exeter

223-226 High Street, Exeter, Devon EX4 3RH

30-11-2008

Great location if you need to get something, are in town already and don’t want to pop to the larger Tesco, however it is pretty small so can get very busy. This means I don’t often end up shopping in there although when i do I always have managed to get what I need, although they have sometimes sell out of the basics later in the day.

Staff seem friendly and will always help me find something if i cant see it. Self service tills are a little annoying through when they don’t work properly. Mine kept complaining there was an unexpected item in the bagging area!

Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust - Telford

Went to these a while back and found them excellant value for money. Lots to do and see in lovely surroundings.

I really enjoyed the Victorian Village as there is quite a bit to do there.

I also enjoyed the Tile Musuem which I did think could be a little boring but in the end it was very interesting. It was good to learn about the history of the area and seeing all the different tiles that were produced at the factory.

The tar tunnel was really interesting and different. You can walk along the tunnel where is some places you can see the bitumen. They give you a head hat to wear to protect your head. It can be chilly down there so remember a jumper!
