One of the less frequented pubs in Hawkhurst, but they are under new management now so we poked out heads in. This place used to have great live music on, but i'm told this is no more and that the new landlord is quite as friendly as the previous lot. Anyway, they still have real ale on and look to do nice food, so all is not lost!

A nice little golf course in the Weald of Kent. It's only 9 holes, but it's a well manicured course and quite challenging too! Lots of sand, undulating terrain and there are solid opportunities to lose your ball on about 6 of the nine holes (water hazards).
This is a members club, but you can pay and play. Tip - Play after midday on a weekend and it's only £12!
Stephan Uhrenbacher did not know you were into this. Cold time of year to be playing Golf. Shorts, I presume?

Andrew Hunter Yeah, I'm a bit of a fair weather golfer to be honest! It was more raincoats and waterproof trousers this time round :)

The Queens Inn is a great pub in Hawkhurst in the weald of Kent and claims to do the best Sunday carvery in Kent. Well, i was lucky enough to sample the carvery on Sunday and i must admit, it was pretty darn good. We were given a choice of Lamb, Turkey, Beef or Pork (the beef was excellent) and you can help yourself to mounds of roast potatoes, cabbage, carrots, stuffing, yorkshire puddings, gravy and much, much more. If you're looking to eat as much as you like, this is the place to come.
Service was friendly, but be warned, this place is very popular on a sunday so you may have to wait a bit for your table. best to phone ahead and book.

A nice little pub in the Weald of Kent often frequented by Cranbrook School 6th formers. Excellent quiz night on Thursday nights and very nice food. This is one of those pubs that’s great to stop off at if you’re driving from London down to the south coast.
Plenty of real ale on tap (mostly Kentish/Sussex beers) - try Harvey’s or Spitfire. Delicious!
