The Cabot Tower - Bristol
Great George Street, Bristol BS1 5RR
16-11-2008
The Cabot Tower is located on Brandon Hill and is, as the name suggests, a large tower. Great views but inside the tower itself there are stairs which you can climb to the top to further enhance the beautiful views to be seen. there are picnic benches at the base of the tower in the tower gardens which are also worth a look.
Blaise Castle Estate - Bristol
Kingsweston Road, Bristol BS11 0UW
16-11-2008
Blaise Castle Estate is a great place to go for a day out. The estate includes magnificent grounds and buildings. There is also beautiful scenery and landscaping to be seen. Lovely to have a day out and a nice picnic. There is also a museum which is a great insight into times of the past.
Redland Library - Bristol
Whiteladies Road, Bristol BS8 2PY
16-11-2008
I really like Redland Library! Its got everything you could need! As has previously been said the staff are great and i especially love the ability to wi-fi and so have internet access - this is great! Massive variety of books and DVD’s - what more do you want from a library?!
Walkabout Inn - Bristol
40 Corn Street, Bristol BS1 1HT
16-11-2008
Not a fan of this walk about at all!!! You can buy both food and drinks here and they often also hold functions there too. The dance floor isnt great and nor are the toilets which are, on the occasions i have been in there, dirty! Drinks are reasonably priced in there and so is food but when i have eaten in there in the past it has been cold and not particularly nice, so wont be eating in there again soon!
Next Clearance - Bristol
3 Abbey Wood Retail Park, Station Road Filton, Bristol BS34 7JL
16-11-2008
If you are willing to spend the time in this store im sure you may find a bargain! However, i have never found much! There seems to be alot of clothes and at quite knocked down prices but the trouble is finding the items in your size! another major negative point about this store is that there are no changing rooms so even if you do manage to find something you cant try the damn thing on! the only things i have really ever bought in there are home wares! Staff also seemed rude but that may have just been on the occasions i have been!
The Shakespeare - Bristol
Lower Redland Road, Bristol BS6 6SS
16-11-2008
The Shakespeare is a quirkly little pub in Redland. It is kind of tucked away but is a real treat. The staff in there are all really friendly and happy to help. There is a real “old pub” atmosphere in there and people of all ages go there. There is a week night quiz night too which is always a laugh. They serve traditional pub food and do sandwiches at lunch time which are served with salad and tacos. Worth a visit, definately!
La Tasca Restaurant - Bristol
Clifton Heights Triangle West, Bristol BS8 1EJ
16-11-2008
La Tasca restaurant is a spanish style restaurant serving lovely authentic spanish food. The menu smacks of traditional spanish dishes which you can wash down with a glass of sangria if you wish! Staff are friendly and the atmosphere has always been great when ive eaten there. As they are part of a chain they often do some great specials. Prices are reasonable.
Firehouse Rotisserie - Bristol
Anchor Square, Bristol BS1 5DB
16-11-2008
The Firehouse Rotisserie is located near the bristol harbourside in the square near the fountains. The food is excellent - lovely for a meal with friends or a romantic dinner for two - the atmosphere is wonderful. The menu is reasonably simple yet very querky and prices arent too expensive - and certainly worth paying.
Avon Valley Country Park - Bristol
Pixash Lane, Bath Road, Bristol BS31 1TP
16-11-2008
The Avon Valley Country Park is definately worth a visit. Set in the countryside the park provides access to a wonderful array of nature and animals. The park is also popular for its falconry displays which are marvellous. There is also a river walk which has a junior assault course for the little ones, which takes you around the park itself, ensuring you spot various things on the way.
St Vincent's Cave - Bristol
Litfield Place, Clifton Down, Bristol BS8 3LT
16-11-2008
You access the St Vincent’s Caves through a tunnel near the observatory. You do have to pay a few pounds for the privilege but on arrival at the exit you realise that the views are definately worth it - spanning out over the Gorge and the Clifton Suspension Bridge.
