Al Forno Restaurant - Wimbledon

2a King's Road, Wimbledon, London SW19 8QN

18-12-2008

This is the friendlest restaurant in Wimbledon, the atmosphere is really warm, the staff seem to enjoy their job, the food is pretty good and not too dear. you can feel relaxed here but at the same time still feel that you are having a nice romantic dinner; what I mean by this is: I think you can make it what you want, posh or casual, there is no set rules, which is nice.

The Colliers Tup - Wimbledon

198 High St,, Colliers Wood, London SW19 2BH

26-09-2008

This place is great seeing as it is one of the few rugby focused pubs i’ve come accross. It’s quite a South African-y place, it’s it’s a good size, there’s parking, they have a lot of different nights there including poker nights, and the beer garden is the best beer garden i have ever seen (and they have out door patio heaters.) I’ve also noticed that you can hire a BBQ and have it in their garden for large groups of people, which is a pretty cool idea. Bar staff are mostly friendly, though i have come accross a few grumpy ones there that have made me feel like I was an alien for being chatty. But overall it’s good pub in a good location, if you’re a rugby fan it’s the place to be. I would recommend this pub if you are in the Colliers Wood area.

Emma Hamilton - London

328 Kingston Road, London SW20 8LR

26-09-2008

If your idea of a good night is to hang out with drugged up topless chav men and underage teenage mums who glass people in the face, then come to the Emma Hamilton. Otherwise, if you’re looking for a more sophisticated night out, go somewhere else, Anywhere else.

La Nonna - Wimbledon

213-217 The Broadway, Wimbledon, London SW19 1NL

hmmm, went here once with my family. it was ok, but the center seating area is confusing to get to, and as i was waited for my family to arrive, the men who worked there kept making sexual comments to me which after a while started to make me feel uncomfortable, esspecially when one of the waiters took my picture on his camera phone from behind the bar without my permission. i wouldn’t dine here again, not as a group of females anyway. the food was quite nice though, but a bit pricey for the quality, i have been to nicer to italian places

Wagamama - Wimbledon

46 Wimbledon Hl Road, Wimbledon, London SW19 7PA

23-09-2008

i went here for the first time the other week, and i was surprised at how tasty the food was for such basic food. the staff were friendly and i had a good time. it is pricey though, and the tables are directly next to each other so not much privacy, but if you’re not bothered by that it’s a good place to eat, and healthy!

the grove - Wimbledon

London SW19 3BH

i have never even attempted to go in this place because there’s always some kind of trouble in there and police involvment. there has been other news of fights breaking out there regularly, some quite violent. the place sounds rough to me and i wouldn’t feel comfortable in this pub. i would head more into wimbledon to avoid the hassle

Bar Sia - Wimbledon

105-109 The Broadway, Wimbledon, London SW19 1QG

23-09-2008

i have been here a few times, it is ok, but if you want to go out dancing, the dance floor is quite small as i think the downstairs area used to be a sauna or something similar. you can chill upstairs and dance downstairs. overall, the place is ok but a bit small.

The White Hart - Wimbledon

144 Kingston Road, Wimbledon, London SW19 1LY

this pub is much better now that it’s been taken over, it used to be a dive, but it’s much classier now with a total refurb, there are plenty of plasma screens, there’s a pool table, and the bar staff are friendly, it’s a good place for a drink
