Chester Zoo - Chester
Moston Road, Upton-by-Chester, Chester, Cheshire CH2 1EU
18-11-2008
Chester zoo is the best zoo in th uk. I have been to most of the zoos in this country and a lot of them are quite disappointing as they only have a lot of monkeys and not much of anything else!
Chester zoo is a great family day out and the kids will thoroughly enjoy themselves. I would advise though that you bring your own sandwiches if you come here because the food is quite expensive and some dont taste that nice You can hire wheelchairs and buggies in this zoo which is an excellent idea
All of the animals in this zoo are very well cared for. They all look very healthy and happy and they are very well spaced out. big cats & chester zoo has 2 female bengal tigers, male & female asiatic lions & 5 jaguars. it is set in 110 acres of award winning gardens packed with 7,000 animals & over 400 different species so ovbviously theres lots to see. there are special talks & feeding times throughout the day plus the african queen water ride & zoofari overhead monorail. a great day out for animal lovers, dont forget your camera
Blackpool Tower - Blackpool
Promenade, Blackpool FY1 4BJ

this is a good place to spend the whole day and night. there is an aquarium, play area for kids, the top of the tower, the circus is the best it went on for 2 hours, the ball room and the great bar. well worth a day inside.
Then there’s the tower itself: you go up in lifts . At the top there’s more shops (including Britain’s highest post office if you want to send a postcard with a unique postmark!), viewpoints and a ‘walk of faith’. That’s a nice part where if you dare you get to walk on glass over a drop of several hundred feet. I have to admit, I took a while working up to it! The views from the top are stunning though, whether out the windows or down through the floor

Birkenhead Park - Birkenhead
Birkenhead Park Pavilion, Park Drive, Birkenhead, Merseyside CH41 4AQ
18-11-2008
Birkenhead Park was designed by Sir Joseph Paxton. His concept was to create an idealised countryside landscape of open meadows and naturalistic woodland belts. The lakes are shaped to appear as sinuous rivers with views across them to features such as the Boathouse and Swiss Bridge.incorporated surrounding land into the park which was sold at an enhanced value for housing to help pay for the building of the park.
He also provided a separate perimeter road for traffic which allowed the park interior to be enjoyed by pedestrians.
In 1850 F.L. Olmsted, an American, visited the park as part of a tour of Europe. Olmsted later became famous as the designer of Central Park, New York into which he incorporated many of the features he first observed in Birkenhead Park.
Paxton’s original design remains largely intact. In 1977 the park was designated a Conservation Area and in 1995 declared a Grade 1 Listed Landscape by English Heritage. love this park.
