Mehak Restaurant - Hounslow

Hanworth Rd, London TW3 1UF

29-11-2008

This is another indian restaurant that i love to visit - The good thing about Meehak, and one of the big differences between them and other indian restaurants is that they don’t have that greasy feel to their meals. I’m not saying they are healthy, but they don’t have that fatty after taste other indian restaurants leave you with. The food itself is delicious and flavoursome. I’d rate the food highly but the service is also excellent. Well worth a visit or two!

Thai Silk - Waterloo

103 Waterloo Road, London SE1 8UL

29-11-2008

Thai Silk has a large, smart decor on the inside, popular for business lunches, with tables outside for warmer days. It is one of the best value restaurants I know, offering Value for Money Lunches & 5-7 specials so that you can eat for under a tenner. My favourite starter are the spring rolls and their green curry is delicious. Service is good and you can book a table via their online website. They do take away too should you want to take something back home!

Cafe Rouge - Chiswick

227 Chiswick High Road, Chiswick, London W4 2DW

29-11-2008

I love their breakfasts! The staff are so accommodating and friendly. They will do anything to make your experience there an enjoyable and relaxing one. The menu is really good, there is lots to choose from (like I say their breakfasts are to die for!) but they also have a huge amount of other things to eat. Prices are also good for this area of London, you really can’t go wrong with spending some time here!

Hop & Spice - Balham

53 Bedford Hill, Balham, London SW12 9EZ

29-11-2008

hop and spice was a good place for a business meeting - to impress without being over the top. The bread, delicious butter, olives and almonds were a nice touch as I was starving but the curry and lamb was quite a small portion and the lamb a bit tough unfortunately. The service was top-notch and having just returned from a holiday in France I found it less surprising than my guest that we were chatting in French at one point to the waiter!

Yildiz Restaurant - Finsbury Park

163 Blackstock Road, London N4 2JS

29-11-2008

This is a fantastic little restaurant. Reasonably priced, great quality food and friendly staff. If you haven’t been here you don’t know what you are missing. Apart from the lamb ribs I recommend the Iskender Kebab, which is also delicious. And watch out for the free starters, especially the grilled onions with pomegranate sauce.

Memsaheb on Thames - Docklands

65-67 Amsterdam Road, Docklands, London E14 3UU

29-11-2008

The décor of this place is brilliant – it is done with style and has an intellectual and cool feel to it, something you would not expect in an Indian restaurant. The menu has a huge choice of different dishes, as you would normally expect with an Indian there is an equally large selection for vegetarians. Although I’m not quite sure why you would bother! The food tastes absolutely delicious and the staff are so friendly and helpful. I really do love it here!

Zayka - Brentford

8 South Ealing Road, Ealing, London W5 4QA

29-11-2008

This is one of my most favourite Indian restaurants for both a meal in the restaurant and for a piping hot take away! The staff here make you feel so welcome when you go for a sit down meal. They are attentive without being at your table constantly and you never have to wait long once you have ordered. The menu has all the usual Indian type dishes, lots of hot curries and lots of other things too, so everyone will be able to find something they like. When the food arrives it really has the most amazing aromas and tastes absolutely delicious! Amazing and first rate place!

Strada - Blackheath

5 Lee Road, Blackheath, London SE3 9RD

29-11-2008

I’m not totally sure how I would categorise Strada. It is a chain of fabulous places that sell Italian food. However its not just a great restaurant. Its also a good meeting place, a fantastic café and a perfect place for breakfast! If I were to have a choice between carluccios or strada for breakfast, I would always opt for Strada. You will get far more food for less money and the taste is the same if not better. Service is also far superior in Strada. The views in this particular one are also fantastic although you do need to venture upstairs! I love it lots!

Meson Bilbao - Maida Vale

33 Malvern Road, Kilburn, London NW6 5PS

29-11-2008

WOW! I had never been to a proper Spanish restaurant before. I have only ever had make believe Spanish food in normal restaurants and although I did like the food offered, it never seemed to be that authentic for me. However, I am pleased to report this place really does serve the most authentic food ever created! The staff here are also friendly, I got chatting to the waiter and we were talking for ages! The staff are absolutely brilliant and can not be faulted in any way. The food tastes delicious and the prices are also good for this area of London. You really must try them!

Rochelle Canteen - Shoreditch

Rochelle School Arnold Circus, London E2 7ES

29-11-2008

Went to Rochelle Kitchen in the summer and I had a truly wonderful time! It is a converted bike shed which opens up into the playground when the weather is warm. It really is a magnificent restaurant! The staff here is so lovely, they really make you feel welcome when you arrive, they have been equally wonderful every time I have been back. The menu is good, although not great for vegetarians. However there are several options to choose from. The food tastes delicious and you do get a good quantity of food. The prices are also quite good considering what you get!
