Thomas The Baker - Darlington
33 High Row, Darlington DL3 7QW
14-11-2008
Thomas the Baker is much like greggs but less of a chain store. The thing I like about Thomas the Bakers is their sandwiches! They of course make many other products like cakes, cookies, pasties, rolls, drinks. But whenever I had lunch from college I would walk down to Thomas the Bakers and grab a sandwich because they are the nicest sandwiches I think I have ever had, Definitely worth a taste. It is situated on high row and easily accessible.
card factory - Darlington
27 Queen Street, Bondgate, Darlington DL3 7LG
14-11-2008
If I need any cards or warpping paper for special occasions this is inevitably where I go. It is so cheap and has many offers that mean even if you go to buy for one special occasion you can stock up on cards for the next special occasion. It is not only a card and wrapping shop but also has great gifts that you can give for special occasions. There are a great range of cards not just birthday cards which means you can go here for any special occasion you could probably think of. Just a great card shop and definitely my favorite.
Art Shop (I.Hughes) - Darlington
12 Bondgate, Darlington DL3 7JE
14-11-2008
The Art Shop is great for any art supply you could need. It has paints, models, canvases, picture framing, pencils, sketch, etc. Anything you can imagine to do with Art the Art Shop will inevitably have it. The only niggle I have is that the Art Shop is at times quite expensive and when you want just a simple note book it is probably not the best place to go but if you need specific speciality equipment for artists this is definitely the place to go.
Boyes & Co - Darlington
Blackwellgate, Darlington DL1 5PW
14-11-2008
Boyes is one of the best shops ever! It basically has everything you could ever want! Clothes, toys, toiletries, kitchen ware, hardware, sweets, food, etc. I especially love the back of the shop where there is lengths and lengths of material and thread where you can get anything you want for making clothes or anything you want. It is also incredibly cheap and is just a great place to shop for daily shopping, presents or when you need something specific. Definitely a place to drop by!
In Arcadia - Darlington
84 Skinnergate, Darlington DL3 7LX
14-11-2008
In Arcadia is another gothy shop in Darlington but not only is it a goth shop, there is also a cafe upstairs which serves hot a cold food as well as drinks. The food I had there was very tasty. Downstairs it has a lot of goth clothes and accessories as well as little trinkets. The owners are very friendly and welcome anyone and quite often have events. This shop is more than just a shop and restaurant but also a community for anyone who has ever felt left out or different.
rubber sole - Darlington
post house wynd, Darlington DL3 7LP

Rubber sole is a great shoe shop for alternative style shoes and for young shoe shoppers. It has my favorites converse and Vanns and lots of different types of these shoes that you don’t usually see. Whenever I want a new pair of vans I usually go to rubber sole because the staff a friendly and helpful and you always get good quality for money and they tend to always have a reduced shoe rack which if your lucky you can sometimes catch a bargain! If your wondering where to get converse or vans in Darlington then this is the place to go!
Greggs the Bakers - Darlington
18 High Row, Darlington DL3 7QQ
14-11-2008
There are many many…many MANY Greggs the bakers in Darlington so many that whereever you look you are boung to find one. Which personally I love! Because Greggs the bakes always makes amazingly tasty food like pasties, crisps, cakes, sandwiches, drinks, cookies, etc. Worth dropping in if you only have a short amount of time for lunch and they are very cheap!
Guru Boutique - Darlington
24 Blackwellgate, Darlington DL1 5HG
14-11-2008
Ever since I have lived in Darlington I have been going to Guru constantly! It is an excellent shop for everything alternative and gothy. Upstairs there is a goth clothing shop with shoes and tights and posters. Downstairs there are cards, funny/dirty gifts and also fairies and things to do with the supernautral along with alternative stock. This is one of my favorite shops in Darlington and you should look in because it is a great place to shop for presents and also indulge in your gothic side!
Primark - Darlington
The Cornmill Shopping Centre, Darlington DL1 1LT
14-11-2008
Primark in Darlington has been recently moved and I think to a much better location! The store they have in the cornmill shopping centre is HUGE! It caters for women, children, men and even housing furnishings, towels and bedding. Even when the line is long in this Primark it never takes long to get to the check out because they always have lots of staff at hand to speed things up. They are always changing stock so there is something new every time you go. It is at the centre of Darlington shopping now which is much better than where it used to be. Primark is the best!
Darlington Library & Community Learning Service - Darlington
Crown Street, Darlington DL1 1ND
14-11-2008
This is a stunning building as many are in Darlington because of its highly industrious victorian age. The library is separated into clearly defined sections. It has a fabulous childrens section and adults section and also has a great referencing library. You can search for whatever books you want on computers so you don’t have to wander along the shelves unless you want to. They have Dvds and audio books aswell and it is extremely cheap to join and get a library card so you can start borrowing. They have the latest released books and to make it fair have waiting lists for the most popular ones. So what are you waiting for? Get on down there and get borrowing.
