Basement bar is a nice place for a drink in this area of town. Reasonably priced & fairly quiet (as it's down a side street).

Only complaint was that it was way too hot in there - the way they've done the decor (with the lamps etc) means that it seems to heat up and being underground there's nowhere for the heat to go!

Had a drink in the courtyard here tonight.good service, and good atmosphere in a decent outside space which was away from the road. The inside looked good too with the food looking like it would be worth a try next time

Great burgers, friendly service and a slightly eclectic atmosphere. Burgers were cheaply priced for this part of London and were a fairly decent size. Cheesecake was good too, if a little light on the base. Friendly service and good atmosphere - worth a visit if in need of reasonably priced food in a hurry

East Oriental Restaurant & Bar - Peterborough

Went to East for my work leaving do a couple of weeks back.  Admittedly we got there late (8:45 ish), and there was about 9 of us, but the food still seemed to take an age to come.  I think it eventually arrived at around 10:15, by which time we'd had to move inside (where there were no tables) as it had got cold outside!

However, the food is always excellent at East, good rates, and they do good offers around lunchtime with a service guarantee.

BLT - Shoreditch

Awesome wraps, they're absolutely massive! 

Only downside is the long waiting times if it's a busy time, but this is standard fare in Shoreditch, however the staff are pretty well drilled so deal with it well.

Ate in the restaurant a couple of times this week. Food is homemade and fairly good - dog friendly and good service

The gingerbread is just amazing. Cool shop too. Make sure you don't go in at the same time as a coach party otherwise the queue can be huge

The Mirage - Las Vegas

Top quality hotel right in the middle of the strip.  Right next to Caesars and across the road from the Venetian, there aren't many better locations in Vegas.

The rooms are massive, and the extra for a strip view room is well worth it - we had a view over the erupting volcano which was great to see.

The pool area is clean, with a good bar (which shows the football if on).  Great choice of restaurants, bars, shops and casino games on the floor downstairs.

Only minor downside was the price of drinks which were pretty steep by US standards.

hotel indigo - Edinburgh

Stayed here on a business trip to Edinburgh in early June, only a few weeks after it opened.

Hotel has a vibrant bar and a good location just down the road from the comedy club and round the corner from the bars on Princes St. 

The rooms are boutique in nature, with complimentary mini-bars and are all very clean and tidy.  Very enthusiastic concierge showed me to my room.

Good hotel and great prices whilst it's building its reputation in the city.

Hard Rock Cafe - San Francisco

You can't beat a burger at the Hard Rock Cafe at Pier 39 after a long flight over.  Greasy, massive portions, that hit the spot when you're in the right mood. Great location too right on the end of the pier by the taxi rank.  Fantastic service and good music.
