The best place to visit for a concert and to have a look around in case you’re into modernism, Art Nouveau, Jugendstil….......SO FAR it is NOT YET refurbished (just a little bit changed like some walls and a beautiful old door partly painted black - horrible!!!!!) and gives you a feeling like in a time machine: old patina everywhere from the early 20th century - where do you ever see this nowadays? Usually places such as the Alte Hallenbad have been refurbished before the public can see it again….....
Go there before October 2009 when the refubishment is due to start :’’’'(

easy to get to as it is in the main station building but still has a seperate entrance.
Nice style and decor for a bar, open wide space. But for salsa nights on Fridays I didn’t like it that much so far….girls are too stylish, the light is too bright and the dancefloor is rather small. Upstairs is a bigger dancefloor/room but it’s also the smoking area…

well I was rather upset with this pub…...had higher expectations to what I read here on Qype…...I was there on 19th March, two days after St. Patricks Day. It was half empty and the bands only played the most wellknown tunes like Molly Malone, Finnegans wake.
I felt sorry for the band, they didn’t seem to enjoy it themselves and also the audience wasn’t very cheerful, hardly anybody clapped, just me and my freinds sang and clapped along/clapped applause. The light was far to brighgt to have a nice athmosphere…...and most of all I disliked the continuing ads on the screen to buy their CD…...I wasn’t sure but it felt to be a “tourist” pub not really irish…......
Some of the staff were unfriendly.
I’m sad and wouldn’t mind to give another chance…..hoping to get abetter impression…....

If you like architecture it’s the place to be!!! Absolutely amazing building fits well with the surrounding buildings.
Very relaxing place inside with benches and several winding pathes through the planted areas!!!
I loved it a lot and returned there several times during my short stay of 1 1/2 days.
As it can be seen on my pictures, it’s also wirth going there at night - it os closed but outside the water balls are still turned on, the floor is covered with couloured stripes and the buildings surrounding that look ever so beautiful in the yellow shade of the lights…......aww….....dreaming

I must give a big THANK YOU to the Globe….......I visited it in 97 (loved it) but the best was that my teacher asked me about Shakespeare & the Globe in my oral exam in 98….....and only cause I had been there (on a private basis and he didn’t know it!!!) I could tell him everything he asked for….he didn’t expect this I think and was a bit amazed as we had just talked about it once(!!!!) in classes lol ;-)
