Tom's Place - Chelsea
1 Cale Street, London SW3 3QT
25-04-2008
(updated on 19-08-2009)
Tom’s Place is a 'cheaper’ and more casual eating place by Tom Aiken. This is a place to have sustainable fish from Marine Stewardship Council-approved sources and line-caught where possible. The food is good! the fish and chip is very fresh but relatively expensive about £12 per portion. if you fancy a posh lunch, Tom’s Place is the place. However, it can get quite noisy during peak hours, not a place to caught up with friends. Interior is simple and contemporary with a tinge of elegance. expect to queue for a table during lunch hours as it can get quite busy.
Greenwich Market - Greenwich
Nelson Road, Greenwich, London SE10 9JA
26-11-2008
It a pretty little market with quite a selection of products to offers, ranging from food to toys… You can find some cool stuffs… i just bought some t-shirts from there… lost of varieties with different prints… There is also a good sofa shop where they sell amazing leather sofas. The price is quite reasonable too.
Look around and you will be amazed to find some great things! Go on a Sunday morning…. that’s when the atmosphere is the best!
Greenwich Park - Greenwich
Greenwich Park, Blackheath, Greenwich, London SE10 8QY
26-11-2008
I bought my mum and dad to Greenwich Park when they were here visiting. It was a sunny afternoon on Sunday… they simply loved it. It is quite a large well kept park.. great for dog walking and lazing around. The Maritime Museum is good for family outings. If you get a chance to… go up to the top… you will get a great view of Canary Wharf! Each time I go there… I love it… never will I grow tired of it!
It also offers a good place for picnics, softballs or simply reading a book on the grass!
St. John Bar & Restaurant - Farringdon
26 St. John Street, Finsbury, London EC1M 4AY

What do they call it? Head to tail eating…. Well here every bits from head to tail can be experienced and tasted. Simple cooking methods, fresh ingredients and great food without boundaries and pre-conceptions! I love St John; I can’t stress enough about this place! Crispy Pig’s Skin & Dandelion is great to start and they do whole roast sucking pig if you order in advance(quite expensive though, £320 for a whole pig) but it is really good and truly recommended!!! Try it and you will know what I mean! A real feast this one! They do Christmas puddings and mince pies too… check it out… maybe something for Christmas!
Tiroler Hut - Bayswater
27 Westbourne Grove, Bayswater, London W2 4UA

It is a charming little place with a huge character! The sheer experience of the atmosphere is worth a visit in my opinion! The service is fantastic… the waitresses are friendly and helpful… there are entertainments while you dine. Everyone seem to know each other… you are almost dining at someone’s home instead of a restaurant!
wagamama - Knightsbridge
125 knightsbridge, Belgravia, London SW1X 7RJ

Canteen style Japanese /Asian fast food chain… I am not a huge fan but occasionally visits provide inexpensive hearty meals… However, this is not my favourite outlet although the food always taste good after a long day of hard work shopping!
Ladurée at Harrods - Knightsbridge
87-135 Brompton Road, Harrods, London SW1X 7QN
26-11-2008
This is the place to indulge yourself after a great day of shopping at Harrods… mind the long queue though. They offer great pastries, macaroons, chocolates and a variety of tea and coffee. They serve ice-cream… For me… shopping at Harrods always follow with Laduree as the finale! Nothing more perfect than this!
Check out the intricate design, it changes decor with each space… I think there are 3 main sections when 3 different themes… I love the seating up the stairs… cosy and segregated from the rest!
The Hempel Hotel - Bayswater
31-35 Craven Hill Gardens, Paddington, London W2 3EA
26-11-2008
Well, it is a great hotel with fairly decent contemporary clean line design. A friend of my stayed there recently and I happened to visit her and it was the first time I know of its existence! The minimalist design is my cup of tea however observing the place in detail… it lacks 'substance’ and it probably will not age well.
However, I still think that it is a place worth visiting… the effort of designing a proper place is worth complimenting at the very least! And it is definitely much better than a ultra commercial 5 star hotel… anytime!
Kulu Kulu Sushi - Covent Garden
51 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JU
26-11-2008
I like Kulu Kulu… great value sushi… possibly the best value in London. Hoever, try to go during peak hours as more variety of sushi will be place on the conveyor belt and you get a greater variety as well, food will be fresher at this time too. On an average, I usually spend about £10-£15 per person for a meal… green tea comes free with every meal.
As for the interior decor, it has a casual atmosphere… can get fairly crowded as the seating is limited to the length of the conveyor belt.
All Saints - Covent Garden
57-59 Long Acre Road, Covent Garden, London WC2E 9JL
26-11-2008
I simply adore the clothes from All Saints this season, especially the parachutes dress! This season is all about asymmetry, cutting edge out of the box design! great dresses and blouses… with great style… however a down side is that most of the clothes are quite informal and casual…
