Kirky Puffer - Kirkintilloch

1 13 Townhead, Glasgow, Scotland G66 1NG

10-06-2011

This is one of the Weatherspoons Pubs situated in a converted police station in Kirkintilloch. This is a large pub that sells basic food and cheap drink. The meals are ok but then who goes to a Weatherspoons for fine food. It's a good place to go if you want a quick meal and a chat as there is no distracting music.

Vector Computers - Kirkintilloch

Unit 3 3 Campsie Road, Glasgow, Scotland G66 1SL

I would highly recommend Vector Computers for any type of computer repair. I have used this companies services several times and never been disappointed. The first time was for a faulty laptop, I handed it in and received a phone call the next day to collect it, as he couldn't find fault with it there was no fee. The laptop evenyually died a death and I handed it in again and was told it was a faulty hard drive, told it would be around £85 to replace it, including labour.

Trans-Europe-Café - Glasgow

25 Parnie Street, Glasgow, Scotland G1 5RJ

Went there for a coffee and ended up eating lunch, nice atmosphere with friendly staff and the food was really good. The coffee is the best I have had anywhere. Only downside is the confusing menu but the friendly staff are on hand to assist.

Balloch House Vintage Inn - Balloch

Balloch Road, Alexandria, Scotland G83 8LQ

08-06-2011

This hotel is situated on the banks of the River Leven, only a few hundred yards from Loch Lomond. Great location, lovely hotel with a nice bar done up in old stone and wooden beams. All very nice until my partner and I ordered a bar lunch, nice menu, expensively priced and the service was abysmal. We waited twenty minutes for the starter to arrive, which was soup for me and pate for her. Finished the starters then waited another fifteen minutes until the table was cleared and a further thirty minutes until the main course arrived. During this time the couple at the next table had to send a meal back as it was cold and when ours arrived, it too was cold. There was a chip shop across the road which we wished we had opted for, at least the food would have been warm.

A small Chinese takeaway that I regularly use and recommend the salt and pepper ribs. Pricing is reasonable with an extensive menu. Food orders can be delivered for a small fee.

Birdston Kennels & Dog Grooming - Milton of Campsie

Birdston Road, Milton of Campsie, Glasgow, Scotland G66 8BY

I have used this Kennel for a number of years to groom my dog and have always been met by friendly staff and excellent service. Prices are reasonable and the grooming service is first class, my dog is always washed and shampooed prior to clipping. The kennel is situated along a country track and is set amongst acres of fields where the dogas are exercised. Highly recommended.

Wheelcraft - Lennoxtown

Unit 4 Aldessan House, Clachan of Campsie, Glasgow, Scotland G66 7AB

Wheelcraft is a small bicycle repair and wheel manufacturing shop that is famous amongst Scotland's biking fraternity. It is owned and run by Alisdair Gow (Big Al), and he and his staff provide a warm and friendly welcome to cyclists, providing free extra strong coffee for anyone who can drink it. The shop is set in the tiny village of Clachan of Campsie at the foot of the scenic Campsie Fells.

Lennox Service Station - Glasgow

Main Street, Lennoxtown, Glasgow, Scotland G66 7HA

I have used this garage for a number of years now and have never had any reason to complain, apart from their petrol prices, but they don't set the price. Mr McGregor and his son Stuart run the business and are both excellent mechanics with competitive hourly rates.

Bhaji's - Lennoxtown

80 Main Street, Lennoxtown, Glasgow, Scotland G66 7DA

This is a lovely Indian takeaway that also serves European food, all at really competitive prices. The staff are very friendly and will cook the food to your liking and will deliver to your door for a small extra cost.
