Julia's tea rooms have a rather homely feel about them, in that there is a sofa when you walk in and it does sort of remind me of someone's lounge. It doesn't have the most modern décor but that sort of separates it from the mainstream cafe's and coffee shops. The staff are lovely and you can find some nice deals on tea and cakes and the like. I go past this place everyday and it's always an eye-cather in it's own way. So, if you like something with a welcoming and homely vibe then go here.

I didn't plan to visit this heart-warming place but I just sort of stumbled onto it and felt a strong urge to have a look around and understand what it was all about. Of course, this cemetery and memorial centre is there to raise tribute to the soldiers who came to help a long time ago and didn't make it home again and this felt very humbling and made the visit something unique. It's really peaceful and everyone walks around with respect and grace. The significance of this place really stands out and I do recommend stopping by to pay your tributes.

I have been to Giuliano's twice with my friends for different occasion's and it's been nice each time. The staff are friendly, warm and full of energy and the food is flavoursome and comes out in really good timing as well so there is no sitting around hungry for too long. It's a great family restaurant and I would say,on average, you are looking at between £10-£17 per person, depending of course on how much you order and what you order but it's worth the pennies and you'll come away with a memorable evening.

This a beautiful B&B full of warmth, charm and so much character! Old fire places, beams and plenty of other period features. It's got a wonderful view of Ely Cathedral in it's distance and it's own pretty feel. I just love it here and I am sure you would too. This place doesn't really feel like a B&B but more like someone's lavish home in the country, the rooms are all wonderful and large, all decorated to high level and the staff and everyone in the walls of The Old Hall seem so pleasant and charming. It's one of my top picks for overnight accommodation in Ely.

This beauty centre is a real treat to enter, with a real clean and refreshing vibe, with really friendly staff, full of character and charm. Treatment start at real affordable prices and range upwards depending on the length and depth of what you're asking for but don't be concerned, you will get real professional care with detailed work and a kind face. I think the name fits very well as they cover many beauty treatments and they are full of life and zest! A top notch place in Ely!

I do have to admit that when myself and my boyfriend walked past this place we were amused at the name of it but that doesn't mean we weren't interested. CrackPots seems fairly new and it's a great pottery painting place! It's closed on a Monday so that pottery can be baked and glazed ready for collection but otherwise it's open fairly normal hours and is the sort of place you would want to take the kids! It's something that people often overlook but being able to design and paint your own plates and mugs etc... is great! Whether it be for personal reasons or for gifts! I will be going here for sure soon!!

The smell that welcomes you when walking into Cherry Hill Chocolates is just sensational!! A bitter-sweet symphony of the vast array of chocolates and confectionery available is the sort of thing I mean. Behind a deli counter you will see hundreds of hand-made, top quality chocolates all with such particular design and taste! This place really sets of the taste buds , my only quibble is that the prices are quite high so it puts me off a little. I suppose this could be a good thing as I would probably way double what I do now if the prices were cheaper. You can buy boxes in varying sizes and fill them with your favourites, mine being Praline related products! The Turkish Delight here is just amazing and therefore I highly recommend it to anyone with a love for Turkish Delight. There are packaged products to buy here too such as Jelly Belly beans and other chocolates and Nougat etc... and also ice-cream! YUM! If ever you have seen the film Chocolat, starring Johnny Depp then you can get the sort of picture I am trying to portray here of just how spectacular this shop is. A real treat to enter, even if you don't buy anything!

Raven Music is a wonderful musical instrument shop in the heart of Ely. It's a little smaller than many other musical instrument shops but it's classy and stylish, very clean and all of that adds up to a very enjoyable experience when inside. There is something about musical instrument shops that I just love, the smell! The smell of varnished guitars is something I just love, it brings back many memories of the music room at school when I was little! The owner is a lovely man and watch this space as he often puts on some great deals and offers!

Labas is a little Polish food store opposite my flat, I can see it just from looking outside of my window and I have been in there several times. The first time was out of pure curiosity, the second to find something in particular and the third, fourth, fifth and sixth times were to buy some things that I had developed a love for! The sales assistant/owner is fairly polite but there isn't always the best communication but that adds to it's charm really. In this little store of wonder you can find European dairy products, sweets, drinks, crisps... almost everything really! If you're in Ely then I highly recommend that you pop in and take a look, especially, if like me, you enjoy European foods.

I walk past this takeaway/restaurant almost every day and it has always taken my fancy. It has something really charming and almost secretive about it and that is something I would love to explore. I have had food from the takeaway menu and it was just superb, I couldn't have asked for more. Sylhet has, possibly, one of the more expensive menu's for Indian food in Ely but it was full of taste. My next move is to sit in and eat a meal with friends or family!
