Hotel St. Annen - St. Pauli
Annenstr. 5, 20359 Hamburg
29-01-2010
Hotel St. Annen - St. Pauli
Annenstr. 5, 20359 Hamburg

It is located in an area with lots of restaurants, so that's very nice. It's not expensive, and simple, don't mind the decor or the bath tub though. However for less than 80 euros per room (breakfast included), I doubt you will find better. Really great welcome, there is always someone to open the door if you come in late and to make you a sup of tea with a few cakes (I got some!) + wifi.
Les Coupons de Saint Pierre - Montmartre
1 Place saint pierre, Marché Saint Pierre, 75018 Paris
09-04-2009
Whenever I need some fabric, I think of the “marché Saint Pierre”. Firstly it is a great walk, I love to have a walk in the area then I go up to the Abesses to have a quick coffe. But most of all you can find everything you need and also make great deals. The fabric rolls that are displayed outside are always sold at discount prices. It is frankly less interesting for curtains as they are quite expensive but you can find everything there so you can still find great ideas. Most of the time I go to Reine’s, I like to be in the middle of all their clutter and cloths. The building is beautiful, the stairs are majestic (don’t take the lift, it’s too long). 5 floors dedicated to dressmakers, which I am not, but I am tempted…
Hôtel Costes - Louvre
239 Rue Saint Honoré, 75001 Paris
21-02-2009
The Costes Hotel is a incontroversible venue of Parisian’s life. You go there to have tea with your friends while devouring some cheesecake -one of Paris’ finest according to me- or to have dinner with friends at night in a chic and glamourous ambiance. You can also have a romantic dinner in a little corner, go swimming or have body cares -when you’re privileged enough!
I love this place, its ambiance is unique with its music and its smells, you feel good there! The only issue is that everything is too expensive. Indeed, you definitely have a good time with all the “luxury, the calm and the voluptuousness” but for a really classic menu at the restaurant you’ll end up with a long bill. Moreover, the suites are really expensive: 530€ for a standard bedroom; although they are really well-decorated by Jacques Garcia they are not that big. Also, the candles - I buy too many of those- cost 45€ but smell really good and I don’t even dare to talk about the body cares. A massage on a Sunday will bankrupt you…
And the highest pitch of the Costes Attitude: Forget your keys inside the house and then have to book a room to watch DVDs with your daughter while waiting that your super friends brings you back your spare set of keys!
Les Cocottes - Eiffel Tower
135 rue Saint-Dominique, Metro Ecole militaire, RER Pont-De-L'Alma, 75007 Paris
21-02-2009
A tour of Parisian’s table dedicated to Nicolas Sarkozy in order that he welcomes in tete-a-tete the union leaders’. It is going to be Les Cocottes for Jean-Claude Mailly (leader of the FO).
Les Cocottes is Christian’s Constant fourth restaurant - he was the former chef at Crion- after Le Violon, Le Café Constant and Les Fables de la Fontaine specialised in fish cuisine. Les Cocottes is a new concept where you eat affordable dishes served in individual dutch ovens by the counter. Issue: No bookings for lunch!
Arnaud Delmontel - Paris
39 rue des Martyrs, 75009 Paris
10-02-2009
The supplier to the President Nicolas Sarkozy. Every year the winner of the best baguette in France becomes the supplier to the Elysee Palace (President’s residence). The award for 2007 went to Arnaud Delmontel. Every day he delivers Renaissance baguettes made with wheat and Guerande salt (a baguette that you yourself can buy) along with little leavened wheat Champetre breads (however these are just for the Elysee (President) so impossible to get them for yourself).
Vintage Madeleine - Madeleine
31 Rue Anjou, 75008 Paris
08-02-2009
It’s the big return of designer outlet stores because we love pretty things and lovely brands like Chanel and Marc Jacobs. It’s also an opportunity to sell some little pieces bought too quickly at private sales… Bear in mind that things cost about 1/4 of their original price. My last purchase was a pair of Marc Jacobs shoes which were still expensive but totally new! What madness xxx
Hôtel Alliay - Le Monêtier les Bains
Serre Chevalier, 05220 Le Monêtier les Bains
08-02-2009
A pretty hotel located in the little village of Monêtier / Serre Chevalier. Hotel spa with a nice heated outdoor swimming pool, a little indoor pool which is very warm and therefore ideal for after skiing, a balneo, baths, massages and Decleor treatments. I’ve tested the massages and they really are great (70 euro for an hour), and you can ask for Sophie who really is an expert!!! They are all Decleor products and therefore very good quality. After skiing it’s a dream…
Au Nain Bleu - Madeleine
252 Boulevard Saint Germain, quartier Solférino, 75007 Paris
08-02-2009
A very nice boutique on the place de la madeleine, a children’s paradise! Wonderful traditional-style toys, often in wood, that please both young and old. Rocking horses, giant cuddlies, magnificent wooden cars, theatre puppets, shop stalls… The toy shop for children whose parents have good taste :-) A bit expensive obviously, but like all the nice things…
Hamman Ziani - Marrakech
Riad Zitoune jdid 14, medina - près du palais Bahia, 4000 Marrakech, Marrakesh
08-02-2009
This is an address a waitress gave us, we were looking for a bathhouse that wasn’t a hotel spa which is often expensive. And well, it was crazy… As it was 42 degrees! We hadn’t been to a bathhouse before, and we chose 1 hour of massage (270 dirhams, compared to double in a hotel). I don’t think I will ever have another massage like it! To start with it was 3 in the afternoon and we were practically alone, which was really nice after the bustle of the medina. Then, 2 fairly imposing women pinned us to a table and covered us with argan oil. For an hour they did anything and everything to us!!! But really it was incredible, fantastic, something to be experienced… If you’re passing through Marrakech remember to bear it in mind!
