A stunning and beautiful church which was designed by the architect Antoni Gaudi and still 100 years later isn’t finished. It’s idea was to provide a place, primaily, for the people of Barcelona to come and worship this is the most beautiful building I have ever seen. The back of the Sagrada Familia is ornate and older in style, and it’s unbelievable that people have carved the intricate religious depictions out of the stone by hand. The front is a lot more modern and still as beautiful even though the two styles are completely contrasting. When visiting you will notice that the building work is still ongoing, and quite rightly so due to the amount of hard work and determination that has gone into building it. There are four steep spires each containing a spiral staircase which we chose to climb by foot. It does get very scary near the top but definitely worth it for the stunning views over Barcelona. This was Gaudi’s last project and he died being run down by a tram outside and never got to see his dream finished. Incredibly Gothic in style and with the most amazing stained glass windows, one visit is definitely not enough to appreciate the beauty and workmanship. Definitely have a go at crossing the spires by the little bridge, probably one of the bravest things I have ever done as I am so scared of heights but again well worth it.

Wow what an amazing place. I visited here a few years ago and totallyu loved this place. My hotel was on a side street from La Rambla making it very accessible. The street stretches through what could be described as the centre of Barcelona. There are many shops set out actually on La Rambla such as newsagents and from top to bottom there are shops and markets right down the sides, with loads more to investigate on the side streets leading from it. On one side the streets take you off to what is known as the old town and it is just beautiful. At the top of La Rambla there is a huge paved park and the bottom you come to the beach and the quay with loads more trendy shops, bars and restaurants. At the top is a huge il corte ingles which is a fantastic shopping centre selling allsorts and with a gorgeous bar at the very top, overlooking Barcelona. La Rambla itself is completely pedestrianised making it easy to amble up and down at your leisure taking in the sights and the street entertainers. There are always human statues lining the street and they are very good.
A fntastic place to walk up and down with something for everyone and great shopping
