Sefton Park Palm House - Liverpool
Aigburth, Liverpool, Merseyside L17 1AP
03-11-2009
Im glad after all these years that the palm house in Sefton Park, Liverpool as been restored to its former glory!
I remember being taken here as a child. When I went back there recently I took photographs of the inside of the Palm House for my work and was quite impressed with the variety and quality of the foreign plant life in there. Bands sometimes play here, also wedding receptions are held. I have a video on youtube of a Jazz concert performance by some talented young musicians...
knibbd I remember going as a child. We had to come over the water from Wallasey and it was a big deal. When I got older and visited again, it was a sad sight. I'm glad it looks so good now.

chii Me too! It wasnt planned that day to come across the young band that was playing. It was a great promotional event for the area and it attracted alot of people.

Kimos Cafe - Liverpool
46 Mount Pleasant, Liverpool, Merseyside L3 5SD

I have eaten here for many years and have fallen in love with their sandwiches, especially the chicken and sweetcorn with their special salad….mmmm!
The prices are completely affordable and it was in a very convenient place right outside of my old college. The also make freshly squeezed orange juice which is (excuse the pun) a refreshing change;)
Primark - Liverpool
48-56 Church Street, Liverpool, Merseyside L1 3AY
04-10-2008
Even though primark created 800 jobs here in Liverpool and is great I suppose for the less well off communities to shop at, I do feel that their quality of goods is extremely poor. I recieved a purse as a gift from a friend that before even using had diamontes missing, shody stitching and the zipper was broken! Great if you are into 'really’ disposable fashion, but as I am not, you will never see me in there!
MELAM I agree not to mention the exploitation of cheap labour . Its cheap merchandise at a hight cost .

Primark - Liverpool
48-56 Church Street, Liverpool, Merseyside L1 3AY
04-10-2008
Lewis's - Liverpool
40 Ranelagh Street, Liverpool, Merseyside L1 1JX
04-10-2008
In the past you never found me shopping here, but since being taken over by Vergo Group things have gotten considerably better. The store is more comfortable to shop in, the new staff are friendlier, The prices arent so high and the goods on offer are more modern and stylish. I have a store card also, which has had a battering over recent months;) and so now I shop here alot. Great for fashion, interiors, kitchen, bathroom etc. And not sure if this is good for Lewis’, but it is never packed out so makes for a more peaceful shopping experience!!!
Argos Distribution Centre - Burton-on-Trent
Barton BSNS Park, Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire DE13 8BX

To be completely honest, I believe that most things that originate from the argos warehouse are poorly handled. There have been to many times now in the last few years, that items delivered to me have been broken or faulty. The last thing I had bought from argos was a 21” wide screen TV, and after waiting one month for it to be delivered, it lasted 2 hours and broke down. I avoid argos like the plague now as I cant keep sending stuff back. Is it just me that has experienced this?
knibbd We’ve had many things from hem and never had a problem - even mostly furnished a couple of our kids flats when they went their own ways.

Asda Stores - Liverpool
Smithdown Road, Liverpool, Merseyside L7 4LN
02-10-2008
Asda is a great supermarket, and contrary to the whole credit cruch business, is still great value for money. I think we all know about asda as there are hundreds of them, so I will end with telling you how great their delivery service is. I recently decided to shop online with them and it has proven to be one of the best things that I have done this year! The service is great including the lovely delivery guy, their flexibility in delivery times and their concept of replacing items on your list for alternatives if you have ordered something that is not currently in stock for the same price of your original choice, even if the replacement costs more. No more tiring myself out in town..whooo!
TK Maxx - Liverpool
Clayton Square, Above Tesco, Liverpool, Merseyside L1 1DP
01-10-2008
What can I say? Well this store is fantastic if your poor or loaded! They stock a vast amount of designer labels for a fraction of the price that they are sold anywhere else. The changing rooms are roomy and many. They sell items for men, women, kids, including shoes and underwear and ornamets and kitchenware too. You also know that whatever you find will be fairly unique as the dont make a habit of mass stocking any product. It may seem a little chaotic in set up, but I think this just adds to charm of shopping in retail with a hint of charity shopping:)
MELAM I have been here about three years ago. I found TK maxx in London about 6 years ago and have visited many since then. They have a store in Dublin and Sligo that I have been to also. I have a love hate relationship with the place now but usually end up having spent a lot of money. Got a great belt in my local a few weeks back .michael Kors. its called TJ maxx in the usa. x

Rennies Arts & Crafts - Liverpool
61-63 Bold Street, Liverpool, Merseyside L1 4EZ
01-10-2008
I used to live in this shop in my student days. It boasts a wide variety of art goods and students are allowed a 10% off discount on anything in store. The prices are a little steep, but you are getting high quality merchandise. This place is fgood for daler board, latex and pens. I found the portfolio cases a little pricey though! Oh and they have a section of the shop dedicated to showcasing art work of up and coming artsists. These items are for sale too!
knibbd One of my favourite shops, a log time ago! My student days mostly ended around 1975!
