Had lunch at the traveller’s Rest today and (to quote my brother’s girlfriend) it was “amazeballs”! The venue itself is beautiful, laid back and comfortable. We were welcomed warmly by the staff on arrival and the “customer service” was absolutely excellent. If you have a dog then be aware your bezzie mate will be more than welcome at the Traveller’s Rest, in fact Spike was offered a drink before any of the people guests, and actually his welcome was warmer than ours (certainly noone ruffle my hair a told be I was beautiful). The food came out reasonably quickly and was absolutely delicious….I highly recommend that you try the homemade lasagne, it was spot on! All the other meals were excellent as well. It was so good that I actively searched for somewhere to leave a review (something I haven’t done before) and I simply can’t understand any of the negative comments below. I can only assume the people casting aspirtions about poor customer service/aggressive staff were, themselves, obnoxious customers as I cannot imagine any of the staff we met today behaving in that manner whatsoever. So, in summary, lovely venue, delicious food, welcoming staff and dogs allowed to join in…..double thumbs up from me!!
