Decent food at a very competitive price. If you’re very hungry but want something quick and easy then the Flaming Dragon is ideal but I wouldn’t recommend it you’re looking for somewhere with a bit of class.

Decent bar, ideally located on the edge of Trent Bridge. A good place to enjoy a prematch pint before watching any if the local sports teams needs that play nearby (football, cricket, rugby). Can get pretty busy though so turn up early if you want a seat.

Nottingham has several pubs that are amongst the oldest in the country and this is one of them. The place oozes with history and offers a great escape from its rowdy neighbours. There’s always a good selection of beers at fair prices. There’s often live music too which adds nicely to the atmosphere.

This place has the makings of something special. It’s probably the best church to bar conversion that I’ve come across but unfortunately it doesn’t quite pull of the trendy image it’s going for. On Saturday nights you’ll have to queue at the bar and seating is often in short supply. Worth checking out but not as good as it could be.

This is a great place to start a night out or have a pre cinema drink. It’s especially nice in the summer with it’s balcony terrace.

A modern Cantonese restaurant that hasn’t lost the authentic feel. The food is good but nothing that will blow you away. Downstairs there is a nice bar that offers a very good cocktail menu. If you eat upstairs they usually offer you a discount voucher for the bar.

Very good Indian food served in a modern contemporary restaurant. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is always very relaxed. The owners have several restaurants including another by the same name in Leicester.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this hostel. It was in fact more like a basic hotel (if you stay in a private room). Everything was basic but clean. The staff were very helpful and wifi is free. There is also a decent bar which stays open until late. When we stayed in May the rates were cheap but it does get pricey at peak times, especially around the Oktoberfest.

Nice hotel. Good location and friendly staff, rooms are a bit small but modern and clean.

Nice authentic Italian food, although surprisingly there was no pizza on the menu. Good value though, £25 for two main courses with drinks.
