Graze - Brighton
42 Western Road, Brighton BN3 1JD

This was an interesting one: the food is modern and served in a unique, tapas-like style. Small portions, but many of them, which come when they are ready.
The food is delicious, and they have a great selection for all types of diets. It’s not the cheapest, but it is worth it. It’s a unique experience and quite fun. The biggest draw back is that one becomes unsure of how many dishes to order and when and how! It is slightly disorientating, but it’s fun and the food is fantastic.
Edgeworld Records - Brighton
6 Kensington Gardens, Brighton BN1 4AL

A CD-orientated record store: a fantastic selection of dance, rock, funk, hip hop and a decent selection of reggae. Unusually for an independant store, it lacks a vinyl selection, but they make up for this with their prices and fantastic overall selection of alternative music.
i-madam_mad-am-i I think you're confusing Edgeworld with the other music shop in Kensington Gardens ...

Rounder Records - Brighton
19 Brighton Square, Brighton BN1 1HD
18-04-2008
One of the best known record stores in Brighton (and recommended by just about every single guide to Brighton), Rounder Records is the centre of chic record collecting.
With a good selection of almost every genre you can think of (with the exception of world music).
The staff know their stuff and are ready to recommend anything of any fashion, or get into a conversation about music.
The prices aren’t fantastic, but it is an independant record store and an important part of the local furniture.
The Eddy - Brighton
67a Upper Gloucester Rd, Brighton BN1 3LQ

This is a friendly, busy pub that’s round the corner from Brighton railway station. It’s got an average selection of beer and other such spirits.
The only real down fall is that the table, back bench and chairs are at odds in length. The bench against the wall is too high, the chairs are too low and the table is somewhere in the middle, not really fitting in!
The Bee's Mouth - Brighton

A darkly lit, thriving pub that celebrates alternative Brighton. A great selection of bottled beer contributes to the very arty crowd the venue attacks. Also, adding to the atmosphere, is the occasional band, which tends to be of a jazz variety.
It goes down three floors, every room slightly different but equally as charming. Once you’re settled into one of the deep sofas, it’s hard to get up.
A lot of fun, always busy, sometimes the music gets too loud, but not often. There’s a real buzz around the place, thanks to the customers.
Probably the best place to go for an end-of-evening drink.
Dave’s Comics - Brighton
5 Sydney Street, Brighton BN1 4EN
18-04-2008
The only comic shop in Brighton, Dave’s Comics deals in everything from the obscure modern day to the pricey classics. They have fantastic range of graphic novels, individual comics, classics, toys, memorabilia.
In find the best way to buy is to look at what covers hold the most interest and go for them. The people working there always seem to be having a conversation with a regular about this obscure person or that, always in depth and always slightly scary. Yet, it’s a great place for alternative culture stuff and toys.
Punker Bunker - Brighton
34 Sydney Street, Brighton BN1 4EP
18-04-2008
Situated underneath the Immdiate Clothing shop, the Punker Bunker is a root and basis for the local underground scene. Selling vinyl, CDs, t-shirts and fanzines from everywhere and about everything, the store is a haven for the local underground scene.
Many bargins to be found if you like loud guitars, especially in the vinyl section, with classic punk and ska being available for a good price.
Immediate Clothing - Brighton

A great store that is a mixture of second hand jackets, suits, hawaiian shirts and new t-shirts, hats, sunglasses and other things.
The fashion sense of the store is based around punk, mod and two tone, and is the large man behind the counter is always blasting out some garage rock or ska.
There are some great finds in there, as well as the odd piece of something rather unusual. The “Ska Wars” t-shirts have become a nationally recognised symbol by the punk and ska scene.
The Robin Hood - Brighton
13 Norfolk Place, Brighton BN1 2PF
18-04-2008
One of the best pubs in Brighton, with a fantastic scheme behind it (all profits go to local charities). A decent selection of lager, ale and wine: with a good deal of pizza + bottle of wine, to boot.
A busy, fun atmosphere, full of people having a good - if loud - time. It’s a place to drink and feel good with where your money going - either to the charming bar staff or to a local charity.
The Wick Inn - Brighton
63 Western Road, Brighton BN3 1JD
18-04-2008
This place never seems empty, let alone on the weekend. Attracting a mix of the youthful and the business type, it’s always bursting. This can be anything from bewildering, annoying or great fun, depending on your mood.
They serve some pretty decent Thai food, and the barmaids are friendly enough. It’s always a busy atmosphere, even when there are few people in there. Something to do with the dark lighting and the endless bottles behind the bar.
