Candy Bar - Soho

4 Carlisle Street, Soho, London W1D 3BJ

11-12-2008

I went to Candy Bar on Friday night with a group of girlfriends. The doorstaff were lovely and let us in for free as we were a reasonably large group. I have been to this bar before and I used to be a big fan but things appear to have changed there recently. Each item placed in the cloakroom cost £2.00, drinks were extortionate and they appear to have gone rather insane at the bar, as ladies are not allowed downstairs to the dancefloor if they have handbags with them, and in a Lesbian bar!?

Le Garrick - Covent Garden

10-12 Garrick Street, London WC2E 9BH

28-11-2008

Le Garrick is a relatively cavernous restaurant. It serves a very meat biased menu, but the food is fantastic and the decor is very romantic. This would be an excellent restaurant for a first date. The tables are placed incredibly close together and the staff oscillate between attentive and comatosed. This is one of the nicest restaurants that I have been to in a long time, the food is excellent and the wine is also very tasty. Highly recommended.

Wahaca - Covent Garden

66 Chandos Place, Charing Cross, London WC2N 4HG

28-11-2008

Wahaca is a very popular and busy restaurant in central london, it’s a little bit off the beaten trail, and it gets horrendously busy in the evenings. The food is very tasty and very reasonably priced, however there are not a lot of vegetarian options and the menu could do with a degree of diversification. It’s a good option for a quick and tasty meal that won’t break the bank. A good option for a nibble after work and before hitting the bars.

The Covent Garden Salon - Covent Garden

69A Endell Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9AJ

26-11-2008

This is a very reasonably priced and efficient salon. The staff are a bit self-absorbed, but the service is efficient, friendly and the standards are impeccable.
