Probably not many people know that this hairdressers in braintree exists! This is because it is got to via a small door and a steep set of narrow steps…. located on a first floor!

The hairdressers itself is actually very nice and clean and tidy but often seems somewhat deserted which is a little off putting. Strangely it comes across as being quite dated and old fashioned too!

All that said, they do generally provide you with a good haircut (although a little too keen to also sell hair products for my liking!)

I find this store most frustrating! It is a large branch of Argos (though not an extra branch) and has a spacious layout…. which is used very badly!! Tills are to one side of the store, of which there are 5 or 6, but i have only ever known 2 at most to be manned. Goods on special offers are displayed randomly in the remaining areas as well as a few larger electrical items. But there is no real order to the displays.

Worst still are the staff i am afraid… many are quite surly and reluctant to be of any help. This I find very sad as it makes shopping at the store most off putting.

One to avoid… much better is the extra store a couple of miles up the road!

This is a lovely spacious store that is well organised and displays are regularly updated. The store is kept clean and tidy and is well lit and presented at all times (even during the sales!).
Staff are very friendly and helpful and are always polite and chatty when serving customers.
Perhaps best of all are facilities for mums and children, with a spacious toilet and baby changing/ feeding areas.
Shopping with and for children at its best!

This is truly a fantastic local shop! The ranges are amazing, including many hard to find ingrediants and the deli section is wonderful with a wide range of meats and cheeses as well as stuffed peppers and olives.

The shop has been recently refurbished and the work has been completed to a high standard, making a great store even better!

Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, making shopping here a pleasant experience.

There is a post office counter and a dry cleaning serivce too!

Absolutely fantastic!

It is suprising to find such an amazingly good restaurant tucked away in such a small village….. but this restaurant is pure quality!

The food is, wherever possible, locally sourced and very much seasonal and the chef cooks the food to perfection, creating the most incredible dishes!

Service is always good and there is a very good wine list with reasonable prices.

The restaurant itself is actually tiny, but this adds to the fabulous atmosphere…. really worth a visit if you are in the area… just make sure you book!

This used to be a fantastic old fashioned local butchers that served an old, long standing community, where the community were served loyally and customers greeted by name. How sad it is now that it has become a 'trendy’ deli, serving mainly take away baguettes and cappucinnos!

The butchers counter still exists but has been pushed out to the back of the shop and is no longer manned by the old fashioned knowledgeable butcher selling local meat, sadly. Such a shame, in my opinion, that the tradition has died!

This is a great, family friendly pub and restaurant! Beautifully and conveniantly located in the heart of the village … a pub with an upmarket feel!
Food is of a good quality and reasonably priced and the setting is clean and tidy but with a welcoming feel to it!
Staff are friendly and on the whole quite knowledgeable about the menu which contains a lot of locally sourced food.
A great place to visit with the family and/ or friends!

I would dearly love to say that this is a qality chinese cuisine establishment as the setting, building and name would and should suggest quality…. sadly, in my experience, this is simply not the case.

The food is no better than average in terms of chinese take away cuisine , but with a much higher price tag. The staff, i have to say, i found to be unhelpful and unfriendly on my two visits! Not one i would return to or recommend to others!

I find it amazing that this estate agent has an office in Felsted as i have yet to see a customer actually go in (apart from to ask to use the photocopier!) If you are looking for a quality property in Felsted or the surrounding villages, then this would be the best place to physically go.. but surely this could be (and probably is) accessed via the internet more easily!

One annoyance…. the estate agent who visits properties for valuations in this village will insist on pavement parking (or seems to when i visit here)! Most annoying and dangerous for drivers and pedestrians!

This is such a good dental surgery!

I took my 2 daughters here for the first time in the summer and both were (understandably) a little apprehensive! However the staff at the dental studio could not have done more to help or put my children at ease. They let the girls adust the chair up and down, showed them all the equipment, opened their own mouths and gave them lovely stickers at the end of the session…after telling them what fab teethe they had and having a guess with the eldest when the tooth fairy may be visiting!

As we left… my daughters wanted to know when we could go again…. and they keep nagging for a repeat visit!
