Bits & Bobs And Cobblers Rest - Carrickmacross

46 Main Street, Carrickmacross

07-03-2009

bits and bobs is much like a 2 euro shop, just it doesn’t have the 2 euro rule. expect things to be not much or not much below 2 euro though. you’ll always find something that is cheap that’ll brighten up your day an litlerally is bits and bobs! also i always like the cheap chocolate!

Crock O'Gold - Carrickmacross

Shopping Centre, Carrickmacross

07-03-2009

The watches and jewellery in here are lovely. There is bracelets, rings and necklaces and chains for both sexes too. Crock O’Gold also offers the great service of removing links if you have had a watch bought for you that is too big and also the pierce ears.

Jade's Chinese - Carrickmacross

12 Main Street, Carrickmacross

07-03-2009

The food in here is gorgeous and as you would expect from a chinese! There is a good choice on their take-away menu, it is well priced and from experience the delivery is usually very quick! all in all a much funner alternative to slaving behind a stove!

Mullens - Carrickmacross

1 Main street, Carrickmacross

07-03-2009

Mullens is a popular chip shop at the top end of the street in Carrick. It does really scrumptious food and the chips are to die for. Proper chunky chips, non of that wishy washy french fry stuff! it really is yummy and if you’re in carrick you should really give it a try. There is also a branch in Ardee.

Birdys - Carrickmacross

Main Street, Carrickmacross

07-03-2009

birdys is a great little newsagent in carrick. you can top up your phone here and even pay the barrier free tolling for the M50 here too. the newsagents also does everything else you would expect like stocking newspapers, offering wide range of tobacco, the lotto, pens and paper for school and even some toys!

Eakins Pharmacy - Carrickmacross

47 Main Street, Carrickmacross

07-03-2009

Eakins is a great pharmacy located in the heart of carrick! it has a wide range of stock that would rival any boots. Being a family business though it has a diffrent atmosphere when you enter the shop, all the staff are very friendly and the shop hasn’t lost its humble touch. However surprisingly it isn’t more expensive than boots to get this added quality!

Markeys - Carrickmacross

McMahon Street, Carrickmacross

07-03-2009

A lovely traditional Irish pub and is typical in offering a good pint of Irish Guinness! It’s decor is as how you would expext a traditional irish pub to be, with little flower boxes hanging outside even. Being in the centre of town it is popular with all types, from students, shoppers or to an older audience. Markeys also serves delicious pub grub which makes it a lovely lunchtime treat.

The George - Dublin

South Great George Street, Dublin

07-03-2009

I personally don’t like the george… it is very seedy and full of old men! it can have a good dancefloor at times but you’ll probably spend most of your night waiting for the miming and useless drag queens to get off the stage. yes they can be entertaining on tv (and in bars in other cities) but the quality of the acts on in the george is desperate. if you’re looking for a night out on dublins gay scene i would recommend the dragon a few doors up the street instead!

Sam's Barbers - Dublin

5 Dame Court, Dublin

07-03-2009

Similar to the branch on the quays on the northside, Sams is a brilliant hairdressers for men. It costs 25euro for a cut, yes alot more than a typical barbers where you could pay 5 euros but the quality of the cut and how good you’ll look afterwards is more than worth the money. Sams is the one place I always come out not regretting having visited unlike other barber I have been. The staff are very professional and know what they’re doing if you want colour or highlights, and offer services like chemical straightening. Perks of visiting Sams is when you get your hair washed you will recieve a head massage and also they constantly offer you a drink while you have your cut… and you can ask for a beer not just a cup of tea! Brilliant Service!

Peats World of Electronics - Dublin

197 200 Parnell Street, Dublin

07-03-2009

Peats is really good for electronics! the staff are knowledgable and will easily point you to whatever cable you need and so on. There is quite an array of laptops in this shop too, but one thing i think peats stands out by, is by how much bose speakers the shop stocks. I’d say the sound systems are the shops niche market in dublin!
