Came here for breakfast and I spent the first five minutes picking all the bugs out of my fresh mint tea. Bleugh! However, the salads and cakes stacked at the front looked delicious and the staff were very friendly. Not Much choice for a savoury veggie but I had the scrambled eggs, which came more like an omelette, but tasted amazing.

Not the best sushi i’ve had but it filled my belly. The bento boxes looked amazing - ok value for money. The sashimi wasn’t very fresh. Set over 2 floors with only one waitress running around, the service was a little slow but that was to be expected. The kitchen was also set on the 3rd floor and the dumb waiter wasn’t working so we did leave the waitress a decent tip. My maccha ice cream tasted like vanilla.

Lovely tapas. Yummy mojito’s. Staff were very friendly. I didn’t like the toilet bouncer though - “any money for me?” - not a very friendly man. The food was gorgeous.

catch it on a good night and the atmosphere is great.

They really need to sort out the rancid smell that hits you as soon as you walk through the doors. It is vile. And they also need more bar staff. You have to wait an age to get served and I often buy two rounds when I go to the bar. Apart from that, the music is ok, the kids in there can look quite scary (in a nice way, haha) and you’ll be sure to fit in if you’re wearing black.

An old man pub filled with a variety of folk. The place was packed. Friday seems to be a popular night there. Live music from a hairy man with a guitar who looks like Alex Zane off of the telly. The atmosphere was friendly and service at the bar was very quick despite the number of people there.

Nice wee place but it was very quiet when I was there. Probably only about ten people on the dance floor during the busiest time. The music was great - complimented by an old skool rave laser light show. The staff were all very friendly and the place still smelt quite new, like fresh pine waiting to take on the odour of sweat and alcohol and sick. Didn’t have a chance to check out the bar area but all the seating looked really cosy and comfortable. Will definitely visit again.

I’ve not been here for many years now but my mum and dad used to bring us here for knickerbocker glorys every other week in the summer when we were younger. I’ve been back once as an adult and the place has barely changed. The ice cream is still excellent.

One of my favourite places to drink in Edinburgh. Staff are friendly and they have an extensive cocktail and shooters menu and a selection of absinthe. I’ve very rarely left here sober. I prefer the side with the creaky church pews. Four stars because the hand dryer in the ladies never works and they never seem to have paper towels either.
