I stayed at this hostel January about 2 years back. And eve though i was only there one night, i thought it was great.
The Jazz chain of hostels have about 4 locations in New york..from down town, the village and queens, as well as Jazz on the park, which is located just off the northern end of Central park.
Everything in NYC is expensive, so we were looking for somewhere reasonably affordable to stay. It was about 22 bucks for a dorm room, which was significantly cheaper than the other jazz locations. Due to the hostel being in north Manhattan, you are alittle further away from things, but the subway is good enough that it doesnt really make much difference.
what i would suggest is that when you check out in the morning, to walk to central park and try and walk the length of it….dont worry, half way down is the natrual history musuem for a break
