Pizza Hut - Bournemouth
82 Old Christchurch Road, Bournemouth BH1 1LR
23-03-2012
This Pizza Hut is located right in the hearth of the Bournemouth shopping area. Lots of charging parking spaces and is quite convenient to families’ visit to the cinemas, shops, other amenities.
The service is quite pleasant but isn’t quite as speedy as you expect when you are in hurry. We waited for just about half an hour before the food was served.
The pizzas were quite plain but to me it was acceptable to me as I preferred it to be in natural flavour rather than artificial flavours.
One thing all customers must be aware of is the hidden charges; you had better ask the waiting staff offer to you such as the type of the pizza base, the sauces that are available, there are extra charges on each of the offers, which are not specified in the menus.
We expected to pay just over £35 according to what we actually ordered but had to pay almost £50 in the end.
It is all right if the prices are clear as you can have the informed choice. The waitress asked us if we wanted some cheese, thin base or thick base, sweet chilly sauce, but she never mentioned extra charges on the offers.
It was OK on the whole, but it was not special on the whole. There have been some increases in the prices recently maybe the costs of the ‘free salads’ are absorbed in the increased prices as well as one of the marketing gimmicks.

My good old friend came to visit us recently. They told me that the service was very good and the room was clean and comfortable. I could see the lobby and the bar area were cozy and very pleasant too, when I went there to meet them. The receptionists were very friendly when I enquried about some events like the firework displays and so on.
epan Hello David
I did not receive any price for my review and I have no connection with the hotel either. I just wrote what I could observe in the hotel myself and from what my friends told me on their visit.
I am so sorry about your experience.

Joy King Lau is a very popular Dim Sum restaurant.
It is always packed with people on Sundays. A large variety of dim sum and dessert choice in addition to the ala carte and set dinner menus.
It is worth waiting even for over an hour on the Father's Day last month. One thing I dislike is that it is lack of customer attention but you have to pay a compulsory 10% service charge while many other restaurants in the China Town London the service charge is optional.

Bourenmouth Garden is a vibrant place with lots of activities going on particularly in the summer time. Firework dsiplay is one of many activities that should not be missed in the summer weekends. Tennis playing in a beautiful leavy environment is a wonderful experience. The whole area is properly maintained with lots of beautiful decidous shrubs and tress full of colourful blossom throughout spring and autumn. Those who enjoy painting and sketching pictureque garden scenes would not miss this place too.
Recently parking charges have been introduced and that has really spoiled the principles of freedom for the less advantageous people when they want to bring their children out to this place especially when many people have lost their jobs and incomes. It is a shame to charge people when they really need a free and healthy family leisure time with their kids.

It is a humble shopping complex. But it should be the time to upgrade the building now when there has been a huge investment in the seafront areas.
I would like to see a covent garden in Boscome, it will save my time and money to travel to London.
Leisure is an added selling point, but parking charges is not for sure.

Castlepoint Shopping Park - Bournemouth

(updated on 11-04-2010)
On number of times. I was held back by the traffic in the car park and I could not get out the car park for over an hour. On one occasion a year ago I was stuck there and could not get out of the car park for over 2 hours.
The manager did not even bother to seek out for a solution when people were stuck there. If I were the manager, I would have treated this as a very important issue because nobody would like to be held back when it is the time they need to leave for whatever reasons. I was extremely burdened in my heart when I saw some mums had their infants in the cars and they were crying their heads off. They could be very hungry? What was the management there for? I would guide the traffic to flow and would never let the traffic be jammed up the 2 exits from all directions of the car park. The Castle Point Shopping park concept isn't a bad idea at all, but the design and the management do fail people. I wonder how the planning was passed by the council in the first place and why there is still no apparent solutions to the problem after a long time. The whole building structure has a serious fault and there are no infrastructure to support the heavy flow of traffics.
The whole thing could have pulled down and could have been re-built by now with an improved design before someone got killed or got injured seriously. The traffic should be controlled by automatic traffic light guided by satellite. The exits should be leading to the main roads by extended the briges instead of leading the traffic to a grid lock with the traffic coming out from the ground level. It is all about common sense, isn't it? Training on some staff to cope with the anticipated traffic jams is neccessary, I think the mangement has not been proactive enough. The shopping hours could be extended on some days and in certain period of time to alleviate the problem to some extent.
Some costs could be involved to put things right, but I personally believe that the public safety and good shopping experience should prevail?

Red arrow helps tourism in Bournemouth. Hotels and restaurants do need your stunning perofrmance more often. It is good to have you here in Bournemouth at least twice in a year. It is definately an event that could draw people into the town. We are in the redhill area, we could see them piercing through the sky towards the coastal areas. What a spectacular scene!
