porthminster cafe - St. Ives
The Terrace, Porthminster Beach, St. Ives, Cornwall TR26 2BN

At last a great pub in Exeter ... great food ... all prepared on site ... no pasta and typical 'lazy' pub food ... great beer ... and the landlord (Hamish) actually greats you and wants you to enjoy yourself as do all the staff .... all those who live in Exeter and remember this as the coach house ... think again you will not recognise it ...instead of traveling miles to the countryside to get a decent pub I now have one on my doorstep …
Hotel Du Vin & Bistro - Tunbridge Wells

Great rooms …excellent service…. what a wine list :) .... just the place to propose to my girlfriend…. if I hadn’t got stuck on the M25 for 3 hours and missed the jeweler’s lol
Only complaint was that it was to hot …

i have to say that i have visited this restaurant about 4 times now and it has to rank as one of the greatest locations for a sea food restaurant in the country .,.. Amazing food .. great service and a fine wine list … if you want to wow a new partner this is the place to take them !!
Gieves and Hawkes - Leeds
38/40 Queen Victoria Steer, Victoria Quarter, Leeds, West Yorkshire LS1 6BE

After a long day shopping and after trying on over 15 suits I was at my wits end, Gieves and Hawks saved the day … yes expensive .. but wow my suit is amazing … what sets them apart are the cut a quality of their suits and the service that accompanies it … my suit alterations were completed after about 2 hours .. with a courtesy call to my mobile so I didn’t have to waste time hanging around …
Victoria Quarter - Leeds

Went shopping in Leeds for the first time … and spent nearly the entire time in the Victoria Quarter … yes all the shops are up market … but for me (hate being dragged 50 miles around towns on shopping trips) I did my whole shop in one place … and that included getting my eyes tested !!! … the one down side was the Harvy Nics café … don’t bother overpriced food for ladies who shop … will definitely return to Leeds to do next years shopping :)
Eden Project - St. Austell
Bodelva, St. Austell, Cornwall PL24 2SG

notquiteox … has appeared to cover all the bases on Eden project … i have been about 5 times and each time i have had a great experience … do visit at different times of the year … summer can be a bit busy but the Eden team always seem to cope . Visiting at night brings a hole new experience to the domes … the new core was not as ‘wow’ as i was expecting … but have to say the ‘seed’ is one big sculpture .. very impressive … whether you are with children … taking your parents … or going around by yourself this is fantastic day out
The Jack in the Green Inn - Rockbeare
Exeter, Devon EX5 2EE
13-03-2008
Great Service. Great food and caters for business needs as well .. have been eating here for more years than i can remember and the restaurant has gone from strength to strength …some may say that the meals are a little pricy … my view is that you get what you pay for … and at the Jack I always walk away satisfied.
The Three Acres Inn & Restaurant - Huddersfield
Roydhouse, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire HD8 8LR

My first visit to the three acres … after all the hype I suppose my expectations where always going to exceed the reality. I wasn’t disappointed as such.. But rather mildly under whelmed … yes the food was reasonably priced … (main was a little cold) … and yes the service on the whole was also good …the wine in my opinion was where this restaurant makes its killing … yes we all know that restaurants hike the price but I felt the Three Acres took this a little far … so why the feeling of flatness … with out sounding to harsh there are plenty of restaurants that for the price do this type of dining far better … with better food and service that exceeds my experience last night …. The overall impression was of a Bernie Inn on steroids … if the Three Acres was in the South West I have a feeling it would struggle against the competition … finally would I go again … mmm … probably not … it would be interesting to hear other opinions
Harvey Nichols - Leeds
107-111 Briggate, City Centre, Leeds, West Yorkshire LS1 6AZ

agree a great store but aren’t they all … nothing to make this stand out apart from their overpriced café in Victoria Place … sandwiches @ £8 a pop that ‘subway’ would have been embarrassed to serve … the staff were aloof and seemed to have no interest in you at all … all in all don’t bother !!!!
