This has to be the most remote youth hostel in the country. It’s only accessible by foot and it’s positioned at the foot of a beautiful valley. It gives you great access to a number of fantastic walking routes that will get you away from the tourist traps.

I’m not reviewing the hospital but the exterior lighting outside the Richard Desmond Children’s Eye Centre (RDCEC) is amazing. Best seen on a dark night it really is a wonder to suddenly find yourself in front of this amazing lightshow.

It’s round the back of the Hospital on Peerless St.

An excellent pub. The barstaff are friendly and serve you in good time. The food is always good, if a little pricey, but there are normally some interesting choices available. The menu changes all the time which I always take as a good
    sign.

Round the back there is a restuaranty area if you’re after some quieter dining. There are also some tables outside the front of the pub which catch the sun.

This is my local and do enjoy going down on sundays for a roast and a read of the paper.

One of a dying breed of second hand record shops left in London. This one will probably go the same way, if the owner is to be believed, and i’m not really surprised.
They do stock a lot of different styles of music but their music knowledge seems to have stopped in about 1995. There is never any records from past this period in the sorted racked. Because of this you can find some bargains in the hundreds of £2 piles underneath the racks - that’s if you can be bothered to sort through them all and don’t mind sitting on the floor for a couple of hours.
If you combined this shop with Flashback’s knowledge (a few doors down) you would have a great record shop.
If you’re looking for rare records from before 1995 though they are excellent - you can normally pick them up for a decent price. And as the name says you can always haggle the price down as well.

I love this place. The service is always fantastic and attentive, the food is excellent and they have some really tasty dry Japanese lagers on tap.

When it first opened they had a huge menu (both food and whiskey) but they recently reduced it in size and introduced a A4 sheet of specials which is probably a good idea. None of the dishes are big so the best way to eat is to order a bunch a things of the menu and share.

I’ve had so many good new food experiences here, highly recommended if you like raw fish or just trying something a bit different. The decor inside is also cool - it’s got an old woodeny pub feel to it, which is probably because it used to be a pub. The kitchen is on one side of the room where the bar used to be.

They also do a fantastic green tea ice-cream which is not to be missed.
