London School of Barbering - Covent Garden
186 Drury Lane, London WC2B

I would avoid this place like the plague. I had the displeasure of having my haircut and I wouldn't even tell my worst enemy to come here, I'm not that harsh!! I should note, I am not doing a barbering course. Instead, I am the one who is being experimented on!!
Upon arrival, the gentleman before me getting his hair cut was complaining to the teacher and the student that they failed to do what he asked. At this point, alarm bells were ringing and I was contemplating about whether I should leave. Eventually, I decided to stay. I've made a lot of mistakes in my life and that was definitely one of them!!
The gentleman before me was of Asain descent. Before I was instructed to sit in the barber's chair, the barber looked at me and said those people don't know anything (refering to the previous customer), something which I took great offence to, but did not say anything as I was dealing with a man who, ultimately, would be cutting my hair. One slip and my skull and hemispheres could be in danger!! Ironically, the barber kept dropping the comb on the floor. Fortunately, he had enough ability to hold onto the scissors without piercing any skin!! To be completely honest, that was the only positive from this experience.
I understand this man was a student but his lack of personal hygiene, his lack of English as well as his incompetence made me regret the fact that I did not leave earlier. To elaborate, this barber had a foul stench of body odour as well as repeatedly wiping his nose with his hands and then attempting to touch my hair. Every time he tried, I instructed him to wash his hands. I'm not a germophobe but I would have thought that this was basic hygiene, especially working at a Barbers. Furthermore, whenever I spoke, he either would not listen or he would ask his teacher what I meant as he did not understand. Moreover, what peeved me the most is that he failed to perform and listen to the simplest of tasks. There were two teachers, (a male and a female) and both of them were criticising his haircut as he failed to make my hair the same level and he cut too much on one side which meant that he had to cut my hair even further to get the same level.
To some extent, the teacher was at fault. The male teacher knew of this students incompetence yet he repeatedly left the room for large amounts of time, leaving his student to practise his incompetence. Additionally, I asked the teacher what he would recommend, he said he was not sure. I have never heard this response to a question like this!!
If you have continued to read this, please note that I'm not someone who moans at the littlest detail. The fact that this barber and his teacher made so many inadequate decisions regarding my hair, it has left me in a foul mood!! I genuinely care about my hair and I feel that it has been ruined!! I've decided not to go out this evening, that's how disappointed I am!!
A part of me would like to think that I was just merely an unfortunate customer but the fact that the gentleman before me experienced dissatisfaction leads me to believe that is is a common theme. Disappointment!!I've been to various different teacher/learner hairdressers/barbers but in all my experiences, I've never encountered an experience as bad as this!!I have been to Vidal Sassoon on multiple occasions and though I have not always been satisfied with the end product, they've been a million times better than LSB!! At Sassoon, they never leave a student alone and the teacher always inspects the students work thoroughly!! In the space of an hour and a half, there were three checks. The third check, I specifically asked for the teacher to have a look!! Both teacher and student seemed so demotivated and shared such a lack of interest, this casts confusion on why they would call themselves the London school of barbering. After a successful 2012, London does not deserve to have its name tarnished by such a business!!
To put it in short, the barber cut significantly more than I asked him too. Both the teacher and student were rude, lacked basic hygiene and customer service and frankly, incompetent at their jobs!! To reiterate, the price might be cheap but the haircuts are horrendous!!
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!
