I visited the Midland quite recently with friends and was amazed by how it has changed over the years. The pub has been refurbished to a very high standard now and is a fantastic place to eat/drink catch up with friends. Has a modern look but still feels like a cosy, traditional pub! great decking area out the back for smokers too!

Quarry bank mill is an old cotton mill, restored and open to the public, it is a National Trust atraction. A great educational and fun day out for all the family. Special events are held throughout the year, these include themed events such as halloween night. Reasonable entrance prices and discounts for national trust members.

This is a fantastic Bangladesh resturant. If you like spicy foods then this is certainly for you. The menu also offers dishes that are different from the norm. Good service and good atmosphere, very resonable prices too. Good for meals out with friends and special occasions as it is quit a large restaurant with plenty of tables.

Waitrose is a small high quality supermarket owned by the John Lewis chain. They stock all the usual items you would expect from a supermarket, but only the quality 'high end’ brands. This means that the products can be pricey, but then you are always going to pay more for quality. Their own range of products is slightly cheaper and also of good quality.

Home bargains is a great place to go and beat the credit crunch! They sell allsorts, from food and drink to toys and seasonal items. They change their stock all the time so it’s worth a regular visit to see what 'bargains’ they have on offer. They always have really good priced regular lines of basic household good too.

If you want to see a great example of U.K binge drinking in full swing, then Sams bar is the place to go! Music, dancing and lots and lots of cheap alcohol.Even cheaper on a week night if you have not got work/school to go to! Unfortunatley this can lead to a rather messy night out on occasions…you have been warned!

Really useful little shop, as it’s really the only one of it’s kind in the area. Sells a large range of stage wear and fancy dress. Also has a very good fancy dress hire service, amazing costumes to make a night out fantastic! Sells stage make-up and props/ accesorise too!

Matalan in Stockport in a great place to shop and bat the credit crunch! large selection of clothes, accesories and homewares at great prices. The shop has a large open plan layout and although it does get busy, there is plenty of tills so the queue seems to dissapear pretty quickly. Reccomended.

This is a fantastic traditional pub in the centre of York. Great beer and wonderful food, i love the pies they are really well made and have imaginative fillings.

The atmosphere when ive been in has always been warm and friendly, a little less hectic than some of the other bars on the circuit. Geat place to meet with friends.

This is just the sort of bar that you would expect to find in York! Slightly weird and wonderful with an unusual range of food and drink. It has it’s own individual style which is great to find as pubs/bars these days can become a little boring and simular…not here!
