Good grief the noise here precludes any conversation. Perhaps a cunning plan to stop folk discussing the high prices and the mass produced food

This restaurant is worth a visit. The range of dishes on offer is quite different to the usual chinese restaurant in Scotland and appears to be more authentic. The seafood is good as is the duck but especially good are the dim sum. If you have not tried chickens feet these are recommended.

If you need scented water then there will be some here. All smelling similar but subtly, and possibly imperceptibly, different.
It does what it says on the sign and nothing else

Standard fish and chip shop with some added home cooking. Better value than the other fast food outlets and a change from the chainstore vendors of carbohydrates.
Its competition is Aulds 50 yards away.

The only bookshop here (other than the stationersL. A good selection and prices are competitive. Staff are helpful but best avoided in the run up to Christmas if you are agoraphobic or don't enjoy close body contact with strangers

Medium sized department store. Usual M&S products and no real surprises.
It is as you would expect. Fair quality and fair prices

AN excellent cinema. Screen s films that may not make the main circuit and brinsg back old classics for a second chance.
It has avoided the risk of becoming an art house institution and precious and instead managed to retain the essence of a good night out at the pictures.

This tea room is associated with the Butterfly & Pig pub. One door down bath street towards the town. It is is the ideal place for afternoon or high tea or eating early before the cinema or a show. The hours are from 5 to 8pm do be prepared and get there in plenty of time.
The food is cooked here and is simple but excellent, the bread and cakes are also baked here by hand. The menu is small but perfectly formed and only the most churlish would not find something to suit.
The chintz and bric-a-brac hark back to earlier days and the service too is reminiscent of this being polite and efficient.
This place is very highly recommended.
The cutlery, plates, tables, chairs and ornaments are all authentic in their age. This is grand recycling and you probably reduce your carbon footprint by enjoying yourself here

This is a popular restaurant in East Kilbride and its popularity is well deserved. There is an interesting and extensive menu with a good seafood selection. The meals are well made and well presented. The restaurant itself is bright and airy and the service is excellent. Highly recommended.

This is a difficult place to review. It does have a good cafe which provides good quality food at a reasonable price. On the other hand it is Ikea. This means it is huge, lacking in humanity and as you walk round you perspire out your soul. The lack of a smiling face or kind word alongside the cattle signs lead to irritability and ennui. If the process goes on too long homicidal and later suicidal urges start to uncoil and its time to leave.
