Lemon Street Market, Truro, Cornwall TR1 2PN
An unusual venue, upstairs on the mezzanine overlooking the Lemon Street Market. Occasional live piano, and can be combined with a look at the art gallery, and all the little independent shops in the market. Very central, with multi storey car park alongside. Interesting cafe menu, with daily specials on a board. Cafe food of baked potatoes with toppings, a range of excellent made to order sandwiches, soups etc. Very popular, especially of course at lunchtime. We had a great roast beef sandwich with horseradish mayonnaise, and baked potato with beans, plus bottled water for £12.55 for two. Good coffee, and a big range of cakes. An excellent choice in central Truro during the day.

In a town not brimming with fine dining options, this is a welcome seafood restaurant, specialising in locally landed fare. I recently enjoyed grilled sardines to start, followed by bouillabaisse. It was good but not stunning in any way. The restaurant is a modern airy room, with the kitchen visible as in-flight entertainment.
