grahamf so good I went back for early supper the next day. Meatballs and roast spuds. Divine.

I think I had high expectations as I found the food curiously disappointing. It was tasty but nothing more. I had the vaunted chocolaty chicken Mole Poblano which was OK but nothing to write home about. The Molcajete “hotpot” specials looked interesting so may give them a try if I go back. Huge range of tequila and great margarita (as it should be).
Staff slightly abrupt but they managed to smile once or twice.
Ambience was a bit cool – high ceiling doesn’t help – but it was fairly empty when I went.

Good: £75.00 for any single hotel room in central London is rare. Breakfast buffet generous.
Bad: awful bed, grim room, noisy street, broken TV; more like a backpackers hostel. Glossy website images not to be trusted.
I won’t be back.

Great for the vast array of CAMRA beers and ciders
at incredibly good value prices for London; bad for smell of urinals pervading the lounge and the grim lighting.

Does what it says: decent burgers and fries at non-tourist prices. Remarkable how many places can get this simple combination horribly wrong, e.g. Frankie and Benny’s faux-American Diner chain. Pleasant and helpful service. Gets my vote.

If you like cheap, inedible supermarket grub masquerading as “Italian-American diner” food, at vastly inflated prices, you’ll love it. If you fancy a reasonably edible burger, Burger King is also on Newport Road.

Food critic Jay Rayner is right – Y Ming is one of the best Chinese restaurants in London. Enough said.

Sadly have to agree with the other recent reviews. Grim and over-price food, strange service, an unsmiling barman and the worst Margarita I’ve ever had: imagine diluted, luke-warm tequila with sweet lime “flavouring”. Please don’t go.

superb, fresh southern indian cooking.
Main focus on vegetarian but quite a few meat options.
Dhosas, Idli, Sambar, fantastic quirky dishes like deep fried chilli cauliflower…
Very good value for money, most dishes under £4.00
BYO drink.
Service friendly but can be a bit chaotic.

Friendly staff but dismal food. Chicke shashlik warm not sizzling, with whole raw onion on the side.f Prawn curry with spinach and chilli leaked a yelllow watery "sauce" and tasted of nothing. Ditto cauliflower bhaji. Suspect everything came out of the same "curry sauce" pot with cream or chilli added. Not pleasant - I will not be back.
