Marks & Spencer - Edinburgh

Gyle Shopping Centre, Edinburgh, Scotland EH12 9JT

29-11-2008

this marks and spencers is much bigger than the one i’m used to. i love the food from m&s, and there was just so many dishes that i have never seen before, so as a result i spent a small fortune, and now that i have tried all the new things, i think i might make a habbit of going to this one, particularly for the food. they have a huge section at the mement for christmas gift, again with a much better selection. it is a busy store though, even although i was in here about 10am on a tuessday, so i can imagine how busy it is at 2pm on a saturday. the staff are all rushing about but are quite happy to help you if you stop them to ask something.

Disney Store - Edinburgh

Gyle Avenue, South Gyle Broadway, Edinburgh, Scotland EH12 9JU

29-11-2008

i was in here last week, getting some christmas shopping in. i normally would walk right past here but i went in and was surprised at the prices, i dont know why but i had it in my head that they were very expensive. i ended up spending ages in here. most of the stuff it totally geared at the age group i was shopping for and i know the grand kids will love the stuff i bought. they have loads of great gifts that dont cost a fortune. i will definitely be back here. everything i bought looks great quality too. the staff are lovely and were great at recommending things to me. i was in early so it was not too busy, but i can imagine it being a very busy place.

Formule One - Polmont

Falkirk, Scotland FK2 0XS

29-11-2008

cheap and chearful springs to mind. you get what you pay for. the rooms are very basic. luckily there is a restaurant right next to it, so you can go here for a nice meal and a drink. this kind of place is ideal, if you are just looking for somewhere to sleep. for example, i had family coming from london for a family wedding, but there just was not enough beds, so this place was ideal for the purpose. the rooms are cheap. it was clean and tidy, but they didn’t like the shared bathroom situation.

Blue Star Taxis - Falkirk

153 Grahams Road, Falkirk, Scotland FK2 7BQ

29-11-2008

i got into a blue star taxi in the taxi rank in falkirk to go home after a night in the pub. the guy was really nice, his car was clean and tidy and he was dressed well, not scruffy looking, like some other random taxi’s i’ve been in. he took the shortest journey home, some of them dont, normally when your drunk. he was a nice chatty guy and not rude at all. he was a good representative for teh company, because i normally would phone a different company, but i would be more reluctant to phone this company now as well. also, when i got home the meter was at 8.15 and he just asked for 8. that was really nice. he was also quite cute :D

Yummi - Falkirk

7 Callendar Road, Falkirk, Scotland FK1 1XS

29-11-2008

i’m not sure if it’s still called yummi, but it is a chinese restaurant. i had a meal in here a few weeks ago for the first time. it was lovely. the service is second to none, the food was amazing and the portions were enormous. we’d had a starter first, but if i’d have known the size of the main meal i wouldn’t have bothered. i could barely eat it. i forced down little over a quarter, it was delicious, but i just could not manage any more. they waitress, offered to put it into a takeaway box for me to take home. i’m glad i did, we shared it later that night for supper and it was even nicer. i will definitely go back here. they also do takeaways and home deliveries. the restaurant wasn’t too busy but it was about 5.30pm we went, so it probably fills up a bit later.

buzzmeister this comment was made with the exact same wording on another site but aparently from a different author at a different date. how can we honestly believe either of these reviews to be true since blatantly someone is lying about it?

grani i dont recall writing this review on another site! however, please do explain why this means its lying!!

Union Chip Shop - Camelon

86 Union Road, Falkirk, Scotland FK1 4PF

29-11-2008

this is a good chip shop. the food is always hot tasty and fresh. the chips are amazing, especially with loads of sauce on them. they are more expensive than they used to be, but who isn’t. it is still cheaper than the other local one, just down the road. and nicer too. you never seem to have to wait long in here, but its nice and warm in there if you do. there is sometimes a few of the local teenagers hanging around here which can be a bit intimidating, but they dont put me off. it is at the top of the street and people often park stupidly right outside the door, which can cause a problem when the bus is trying to get by, especially when there is more spaces round the back, it’s not rocket science.

King's Takeaway - Falkirk

24 Vicar Street, Falkirk, Scotland FK1 1JB

29-11-2008

this place is so busy late at night at the weekend, it is right in the town centre and is just round the corner from the taxi rank. i reckon most people stop off here when they stumble out of the pubs and clubs in falkirk on their way to get a taxi (i know i do). i can actually comment on the food when i’m sober too. i have tried this place other than when i’m drunk and the food is good, tasty hot and fresh. at the weekend when it’s busy, they normally manage to get the q down pretty quickly, but even if they dont’ most people are too drunk to notice. i think they staff here deserve medals for what they have to deal with, and still manage to do it smiling. the chicken tikka kebab is the best.

Sanam Tandoori Restaurant - Falkirk

5 Callendar Rd,, Falkirk, Scotland FK1 1XS

29-11-2008

this is a busy indian restaurant. i have only ever been here at lunch time. the buffet is very good and very reasonably priced too. the staff are very nice and friendly. the second you have finished your drink they are over at your table to see if you want another one. it is quite a big place with plenty of seating. i have also had a few takeaways from here are the quality is the same as the restaurant which is not always the case with other places. they also do a home delivery service, but i dont know how far afield the deliver, i’ve not had one. definitely one to try if your out shopping in falkirk and looking for somewhere to have lunch. it is only about 5 minutes walk from the main shopping centre.

Behind The Wall - Falkirk

14 Melville Street, Falkirk, Scotland FK1 1HZ

29-11-2008

i had not been in here for ages, then i was in her last friday. it used to be a really busy place on a friday night, but not last week. since sportsters opened up round the corner, thay have taken all the regulars from behind the wall. but last week, i came in for a meal and a few drinks. the meal was quite nice. i had dixy chicken and it was a bit too crispy for my. the meal was huge. then we noticed the a sign on the wall that said cocktails were 2 for 1 from 5 till 7pm, so we got 2 big jugs of “skittles” for 12 pounds, what a great deal, so about 6.50pm we got another couple. they are very tasty. it did get a bit busier later on, but nothing like it used too. they also had a private function on in the conservatory, which is where most of the seating is, so it was a bit limited. i’d definitely go back for a meal and a few drinks. it’s a shame it has lot so much of its atmosphere though.

Gair and Gibson - Falkirk

Hope Street, Falkirk, Scotland FK1 5AS

29-11-2008

the company is actually called Gair and Gibson.

i used this solicitor for buying and selling my house. considering how stressful this can be (particularly selling) they were very good and considerate. they were always forthcoming with information. he would contact me with even the smallest amount of information from the buyers solicitor’s. it did make the sale go a lot easier the fact that we were in constant contact. i was also only called into the office once to sign the final paperwork, which was good because i work in an office also, so i didnt have to take time off to do this. i also used them for the surveying too and they got me a great price, i should point out this was 2 years ago and luckily for me just before this huge slump the market is in. overall, it was very professional, and i would use them again
