Mad Lillies Hairdressers - Hampstead

34 Heath Street, Hampstead, London NW3 6TE

14-06-2011

I felt compelled to visit Mad Lillies for the first time after reading consistently 5 star reviews, completely setting my confidence in the salon beforehand. Although the people were welcoming and friendly, I specifically stated the maximum length of hair I wanted cut as well as showing a picture of a particular style I wanted (which also featured long hair). The stylist didn't listen to me - with regard to the particular style I wanted nor the length I wanted - and ended up cutting a huge amount (my hair was almost to the bottom of my back, it's now shoulder length). I am extremely dissatisfied, especially as the haircut wasn't cheap and, having had long hair for a long time, it is a significant change I hadn't intended or anticipated I would have to get used to. I usually find complaints about hair being too short slightly unconvincing as I believe it is necessary to state the length you are willing to have cut but in this case, I was extremely clear and am now left with a haircut I don't like.

KATELIN i totally understand. This week at a Soho salon I politely, clearly, 100% DISTINCTLY STATED -
PLEASE do NOT CUT the front AT ALL! I’m growing it our – JUST level it at the BACK”.
The stylist assured me he understood – so I relaxed & we began conversing, laughing ….. BIG mistake!!! …..NEVER RELAX in a salon……NEVER TRUST an unknown stylist……
In 1 second flat, I took my eyes of the job in hand – AND BAM!!!
My cheek-bone level fringe was MASSACRED ! 2 inches ABOVE MY EYEBROWS!!!
THINK Joan of Arc ! & the BACK IS WONKY!!!
It seems some stylists are DELIBERATELY DEAF. IT’S an EVIL betrayal of trust.
Simple as that.
I SO NEED to find a stylist who can DO A STYLISH, PRECISION CUT BOB, but have no clue who to trust —
IF ANYONE HONESTLY KNOWS A GOOD bob haircutter by name. PLEASE INFORM ME, – I cannot spare any more hair in DISASTERS!

natpan totally agree! Exactly what happened to me, now i have really dated and old fashioned short haircut, when i specifically said only 2inch off the bottom. hes taken 6 inches off to give me “the racheal cut” and short fringe not the sweeping centre parting i requested. And that was the senior stylists!!
