B & Q - Exeter
Alphington Road, Exeter, Devon EX2 8HG
23-11-2008
(updated on 09-12-2008)
A fairly large store stocking gardening supplies, tools, lights and electricals, doors, timber and paint. If you require anything regarding DIY, they’ll probably stock it. Unfortunately you will usually encounter long queues at the checkouts, those that are open. Staff on the floor are extremely helpful. Till staff are unhelpful, bordering on rude.

This is a well stocked small tesco which is smack in the middle of the city, on the high street. They have a selection of frozen food and refrigerated items along with a large fruit and vegetable aisle. They also sell the usual household items and they have a small range of freshly baked goods available. They have self serve tills as well as normal tills and they also have a tobacco counter.

This is a small branch of the F Hinds chain located between the Guildhall shopping centre and Exeter High Street. They stock quite a wide range of jewellery along with watches, gifts and ornaments. I purchased my wife’s wedding ring here and the staff were lovely and friendly. Great for jewellery but also their range of gifts are very nice and they start from around £7 which isn’t bad for a present.
Iceland.co.uk - Exeter

This is an average sized store and is located on Sidwell Street which is a 5 minute walk from the High Street. The store is well laid out with lots of offers on a multitude of frozen food. As well as frozen food they have a small selection of non frozen goods such as household items, drinks, crisps and snacks. They also sell a small selection of fridges and freezers here. If you spend over £30 instore you can have your shopping delivered to your house for free which is fantastic if you don’t drive.

This is a funky little shop which is located on Gandy Street off of Exeter High Street. They sell many gift items as well as novelty gifts and a range of handcrafted and unique cards. The stock changes fairly reguarly and everytime i visit they always seem to have a range of things that i haven’t seen before. The staff are always very friendly and helpful and this is a great shop to pick up a special gift for a loved one.

This is a small shop but they have a large amount of stock. They sell all the usual Athena goodies which include prints, posters, frames, stationary and pens. They also have a wide choice of gift items which are great for stocking fillers. Shauls Bakery - Exeter

Shauls is a nice little bakery situated close to the city centre which sells the usual pasties and cakes alongside pizzas, paninis and baguettes (which they will make to your requirements). Great if you want a sandwich made to order or if you’re particular about what you eat. They also sell a selection of hot and cold drinks. The staff are very friendly and welcoming.
On The Waterfront - Exeter
5 The Quay, Exeter, Devon EX2 4AP

(updated on 05-12-2008)
The menu offers Pizza, Burgers and Pasta dishes, all of which are excellent. Sitting outside on a warm evening overlooking the Quay is highly recommended. You will also find hair straightners in the women’s toilets which cost £1 for around 5 minutes use. There is also a function room which is available to hire for birthdays and special occasions. The staff are very friendly and will always make you feel welcome.
Pumpkin - Exeter
20a The Harlequin Centre, Paul Street, Exeter, Devon EX4 3TT
27-11-2008
Nice little gift shop located in The Harlequin Centre. They sell a wide selection of gifts ranging from homeware to little stocking fillers. They also have a few small furniture items, chairs and desks etc. These are seriously funky but do have quite a hefty price tag attached. Great place to go if you’re looking for a birthday gift and want to get something special.
the orange tree - Exeter
Princesshay, Exeter, Devon EX1 1GD
27-11-2008
This is an amazing gift shop situated in the new Princesshay Development. They sell all sorts of designer gifts at reasonable prices considering the quality of the goods. They also have a selection of larger pieces of furniture. This is nice shop to just have a browse around in, even if you don’t purchase anything it’s great for getting inspiration.
