Rasa W1 - Mayfair
6 Dering Street, Mayfair, London W1S 1AD
16-11-2009
Even though this place has many vegetarian dishes, it also has a meat-based section. I shared a Masala Dosa as a starter and had the Thalassery Chicken Masala as the main meal. Both very good.
Rodizio Rico - North Greenwich
The O2 Millennium Way, Greenwich, London SE10 0DX
13-10-2009
I went there with a friend on a late Saturday afternoon and we ate continuously for 1.5 hours. The food (mostly meat for us) was that good. :)
It wasn't busy and they did a good job of making sure that our plates were never empty.
Cheyenne Spur Steak & Grill Restaurant - Westminster
The 02 Entertainment District, London SE10 0BB
27-08-2009
I lived next in Mozambique for a few years and I used to visit South Africa quite often then (both countries share a border). Spur restaurants are widespread in South Africa and they serve an excellent steak there, so I used to go there more than a few times.
I was curious how the English version would fare in comparison. I had a sirloin steak and I thought it wasn’t as good as the South African one, but it was still good (especially considering the price).
The service was excellent as we were served by a very friendly lady and the food came relatively quickly.
Buen Ayre - Hackney
50 Broadway Market, London Fields, London E8 4QJ

A small, but excellent Argentinian steak house.
I had the 10oz rump and it was definitely one of the best I have had in the UK.
One minor complaint is that I asked for medium and got what I would describe as rare. The meat was tender enough that I did not mind though.
Hardy's Well - Rusholme
257 Wilmslow Road, Manchester, Greater Manchester M14 5LN
11-07-2009
Decent beer, good prices and pool tables meant that I would often meet friends on Hardy’s Well during my student days.
The Natural History Museum - Knightsbridge
Cromwell Road,, South Kensington, London SW7 5BD

Educational and enjoyable. The place is huge and it felt like a free light cardio session came with the package. ;)
We must have been lucky because there weren’t any queues.
Favela Chic - Shoreditch
91-93 Great Eastern Street, old street, London EC2A 3HZ
11-07-2009
I went to Favela Chic for a friend’s birthday and I was left with mixed feelings. The crowd was friendly, the music was interesting and the food was good (although I suspect I would have liked it a lot more if I had chosen the steak instead of the chicken).
However, it was too crowded and too hot.
Cornerhouse - Manchester
70 Oxford Street, Manchester, Greater Manchester M1 5NH

Great cinema for independent films. The bar is also good with a nice selection of drinks.
Alton Towers - Stafford
Alton, Stafford, Staffordshire ST10 4DB
11-07-2009
I always have a good time when I go to Alton Towers, but the main issue is that the queues for the best rides can be very long. As said elsewhere, April/May and September/October are nicer in that respect.
Rita, Nemesis and Oblivion are my favourite rides as I am a thrill-seeker and I’ll give it a 5 on the assumption that it’s not too busy. 4 otherwise.
Cafe House - Clapham
19a Clapham High Street, London SW4 7TS
11-07-2009
Good and quick sandwiches prepared on the spot.
