Davys At Canary Wharf - Docklands

31-35 Fishermans Walk, 10 Cabot Square, London E14 4QB

25-01-2009

This bar is a favourite with the 'blokes’ in Canary Wharf who want a good pint or a nice bottle of wine. Doesn’t ring my bell, a bit too spit-and-sawdust for my taste. Give me the cocktail bar over the river

Mercure Holland House Hotel and Spa Bristol - Avon Valley Business Park

Redcliffe Hill, Bristol BS1 6SQ

Very nice rooms, good room service, excellent service. Very modern decor, restaurant food can be a bit pricy

Bakers Oven - Doncaster

17 Baxter Gate, Doncaster, South Yorkshire DN1 1LG

This is where I get my bread every week, so much better than supermarket or prepacked bread. Very friendly, good service

Costa - Doncaster

30-31 Baxter Gate, Doncaster, South Yorkshire DN1 1LD

Good coffee and cakes (son loves the hot chocolate) but a bit short on sitting space when busy

Greggs - Doncaster

35 Baxter Gate, Doncaster, South Yorkshire DN1 1LD

The best custard slices, but the service is a bit hit and miss

Tabor Greengrocers - Doncaster

Have switched my shopping from the big supermarkets to Doncaster Market due to places like this, which do a far nicer, cheaper fruit and veg. Between all the stalls they have the full range (though any one stall may not) and prices are good. BUT have noticed that the goods don’t last as long as the supermarket stuff but that may be an indication that the supermarket stuff has been 'treated’ to improve its durability

K D Davis & Sons - Doncaster

John's Family Butchers - Doncaster

Won’t buy my meat at the supermarket any more after finding Doncaster Food Hall. This and other butchers in the hall are far cheaper and the meat is far better - there are some differences (specialities, additional produce) between them but prices are usually on a par and all provide the same range or day-to-day cuts. Recommended for those looking to improve meal quality, broaden their range and reduce shopping bills
