Carpenter's Arms - Bethnal Green

73 Cheshire Street, London E2 6EG

An oasis, intimate and friendly. Great place for me to hide while the wife is in 'Beyond Retro'.
Friendly staff, great selection of beers and wines and the little courtyard smoking area is charming.
A must for anyone wanting a little time out from the bustle of Brick Lane.

Pulcinella Pizza Pasta Restaurant - Soho

Great place to eat when out in Soho. Brilliant Calzone, friendly staff and a great place to watch the world go by.

Very good value for money.

An aladins cave of wonderful stuff. From old biker jackets and leathers to weird object d'art. This is a real collectors place and a local institution.
The guy that runs it is one of the nicest people you could meet.
A treasure of a shop filled with treasure!!!

One of the best Indian Take Aways in South London and it's a pleasure to give them my money. The chicken dansak is amazing and the chefs specials are always tempting. Fresh ingredients and they deliver.

Ssshhh! Don't tell everyone, this really is an Aladdin's Cave of undiscovered treasures. Friendly traders and full of character. I love it.

The Secret Garden - Crystal Palace

This place is as magical as it sounds, hidden terraces of lovely plants including water plants. Staff are knowledgable, friendly and helpful.

Yak & Yeti Restaurant - Crystal Palace

Eaten in here twice, first time it was a bit quiet but the food was amazing. Second time there was a large group of us, the food was still excellent and the service was above and beyond.
Will definately go again.

A bit like that US tv series cheers, where everyone seems to know each other. Family friendly and free pool on a Monday.

This pub more than any other has put effort in to start new things and support community projects.
They have introduced the farmers market in the beer garden, host art exhibitions, charity events and now show free movies on a Sunday night.

It's the best music venue in Crystal Palace with live music every week from kids starting out through to seasoned professionals.

Only negative is that they run out of their guest ales too quickly!

White Hart - Crystal Palace

This is a nice pub (part of a chain I think) with great decor and good range of drinks including guest ales. Food can be really good and inexpensive for pub grub. Nice beer garden and the benches at the front are great for watching the world pass by.
However... the problem is the size of the bar/number of staff to the number of patrons. At busy times it can take twenty mins to get served at the bar. I also dislike it when there are a number of people waiting to be served and one of the barmen starts emptying the dishwasher! I have lost count of the number of times we have given up and gone to one of the other pubs in the triangle.

Domali Cafe - Crystal Palace

Very family friendly so if you are kidphobic steer clear of this place. Nice veggie menu and the staff are always friendly it's just such a shame it's spoilt by having the atmosphere of a creche.
