If Liberace had a shop - this would be it!!!
Anne Karin is a mad, funny, German women with a wild sense of interior design!! It’s Christmas all year round in this shop. Lots of gilt, gold, feathers. And lots and lots of stock. If you’re having a bad day just go here and you’ll be cheered up!
There is so much stock in this place that I defy you not to be able to find something. Its mostly for the home but there is jewellery, handbags and gifts - mainly for women. Generally very reasonably priced.
The shop is over two floors. Upstairs there is more stock and also loads of fabric books for all your curtain and soft furnishing needs. I haven’t used the interior design service.
    Definitely worth a look.

It’s a muliplex - what more to add?!!
Ok it’s quite a good multiplex and it’s in an out-of-town entertainmant area. Alongside there is plently of choice of food - McDonalds, TGI, Frankie and Bennys, Pizza Hut, Bella Pasta, a pub and a chinese place. It’s near Ten Pin Bowling, a Health Club and opposite the biggest Sainsburys in town plus Boots, Next, JJB’s, Mamas and Papas and the Holiday Supermarket. So if you need to drop your kids off … there’ll be enough to do.
This is, as other reviewers have said, for the latest big films. Nothing that isn’t on massive release.
I don’t notice it cheaper then Vue.
It is clean. Sweets and drinks are a rip off as they are at every multiplex. And, it is cold. Take your coat!!
They have booster seats for little ones and a Saturday morning kids film which is very cheap.
Parking is easy, free and plentiful. However, if it’s a match say for Northampton Town football, then do get a ticket from the cinema to put on your windscreen or you will pay dear!

I ate in the private room downstairs with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday. We were a party of 10 and the room is lovely. It felt really private. Ample room. A great space.
The service was very efficient and pleasant. Alos because it’s tapas they call by the room often.
Now we did have four or five bottles of wine and the wine was very good. However, the meal was an awesome £75 per head and, to be honest, this left a bit of a nasty taste in the mouth. The charges for coffees, teas are very steep. And to me this was not a £75 meal. it was ok. It was tapas. But not £75.
Enjoy the quaint building. Sit upstairs and watch the world go by. Order a few dishes.
But if you’re in the party room do a deal beforehand on the whole bill … or you’ll be stung!

    The Furniture Barn

    1pxt jam899 last updated on 27-11-2008:

The is one of two sites owned by The Furniture Barn - the other is round the corner in Riverside. Both are vast spaces of furniture - beds, sofas, dining room furniture, etc.
This is a warehouse. Don’t expect fancy displays.
However, you’ll find an ever changing stock which represents very good value. They do buy in ranges and you can order lots of different furniture form very helpful staff. They also stock “one-offs”. These will be returns to places like John Lewis - wrong fabric, customer changes mind. Also you will find furniture from photo shoots for companies like John Lewis.
I have had great bargains. Buy when you see it as it may not be there when you return. Also check stock carefully. There may be a few marks here and there. All of mine have been fine.
Good stylish furniture at a very good price. They deliver for £25.

Newsflash 28/11/08 - shop closing down - go and get some bargains
I have bought some of my best boots in here and yet I’m not that tempted to return. Thinking about it it is not the quality of the shoes. The place, however, looks and feels a bit like a factory shop. It’s also up St Mary;s Road which, alhtough very near, is not on the main drag and so i don’t tend to go up there. Service was ok last time I went. Maybe I should revisit as stock is good!
