My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and loved everything. Our room was 307, on the corner of the building with a view of the Pantheon, so close it felt like we could touch it. Every staff member of the hotel was helpful and friendly. The location can't be beaten. We were able to walk to most every tourist spot. When we didn't feel like walking, a taxi stand was within yards of the hotel's front door. Breakfast was included in the room rate - a basic spread of meats, cheeses, breads, pastries, juices, fruit, and an egg dish, and good strong coffee served with a smile. I can't say enough positive things about this hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. If I had to say anything negative, it'd be that the firmness of the mattress was a bit too firm, and we referred to our bed as "the rack" by the 3rd night, but that's probably just me being picky. Great hotel. Great location. Great hotel staff. I'd book again in a heartbeat.

Okay…where do I start… You order and pay at the counter here and then find yourself a cleaned off space at the old table in the front room or at one of the many places to sit in the back two rooms. The coffee is okay. Not great. I’ve been in here for coffee more than several times, hoping it’ll get better, and it doesn’t. I like the casual atmosphere, the ability to grab a newspaper or a book and just lounge around anonymously - no waitress to bother with, and no waiting for tables - there’s always enough seating. But there’s always something missing - the coffee is just always okay. The pies and cakes in the glass display case by the front door always look better than they taste. The lunches smell good but always seem bland. And, the dishes seem like they’re not washed properly. Several times, I’ve had to ask for a different mug, one without the grandma pink lipstick stain on the rim. The loo….ugh… I won’t even go there (that’s a pun, isn’t it?!). So…Oliver’s could be a great place if they tried harder. As it is now, its mediocre at best, which is too bad, because the informal coffee shop where you can be comfortable and visit would be so nice in Sherborne if it was done with a little less bland and a little more flair…and washing up liquid.
OliversSherborne Hello
Thank you for your feedback. I’ve just bought Oliver’s from the previous owner and am keen to get as much feedback as I can. I’m pleased to say that we’ve done a LOT of cleaning already and I am very fussy about crockery and cutlery being clean. I am planning on refurbing the loos as they are definitely looking tired so watch this space. I’m also bringing the food into the 21st century (no more iceberg lettuce!) but the cakes will still be homemade and everyone’s favourites will still be available.
Hope to see you in Oliver’s again soon. Jane.

Just got back from lunch at The Green Room. It was good. There isn’t a whole lot to choose from on the menu, but enough for a small restaurant, and the items they had showed some variety. I got the shitake mushroom penne and it was extremely rich (I could feel my arteries clogging with each bite), but very good. My friend got butternut squash risotto and enjoyed it. The best part of lunch was the lemon tart. OMG. It had a crunchy top, like you’d find on a creme brulee, and it was the best lemon dessert of any kind that I’ve ever had. We spent almost 30 pounds on a nice lunch for two. The ambience is just okay. It’s contemporary and stylish in an old building, and the service was good. I wasn’t thrilled with my entree, but I can’t fault the place too much for that.If you go here, expect to be pleased but not thrilled. It doesn’t give you that “got to go back” kind of a feeling that would’ve made me rate it with 5 stars.

Okay, so its a very strange location - a little south of the intersection of Power and Main in Mesa. Not glamorous by any means. But, this, by far, has been the best sushi place that I’ve found in Arizona - sorry, Scottsdale. Its a small place, and very busy, but extremely welcoming. The people here are so nice - if you visit twice, they’ll remember you. You’re not just another party for dinner - you’re a guest. The food is awesome and so fresh. The portions are generous and the quality is outstanding. The caterpiller roll is something my kids love - sprout antennae, sliced avocado segments and all - very cute, very well done. The Kee’s roll has very thin slivers of sliced lemon on top - my husband’s favorite. I can’t think of anything we didn’t like. The octopus salad is a gift from the gods. Prices are okay - you won’t spend a fortune, but don’t expect a cheap dinner either. I could rave on and on. This is one of my very favorite, all time restaurants.

We’ve been here probably 10 times in the past 2 years. The food is always, consistently good. The service is always immediate and attentive. I just looked through the on-line menu to see if there was one dish, just one, that we didn’t like, and I couldn’t find any. I probably wouldn’t get the chutneys and poppadoms again, just because they weren’t a hit, but they weren’t bad either. We’re not much into starters, so I havent tried any. Just thinking about the peshwari naan (sweet and soft with plenty of coconut) makes me want to have lunch there today though. The vegetable side dishes are excellent. We’ve had every single one on the menu - portions are very small, but tasty. The vindaloo is nuclear - just the way I like it. Bhuna is a good one too - hot, but doesn’t melt your lips off. The kids like the korma and pasanda. This is a definite repeat place to eat. I’d say it was moderately priced - not inexpensive, but not scary either. Beer is always icy cold - always a plus.
Sheryl13 You can’t write that people are Pervy! Why do you write such a thing what did they do to you to merit you saying such a nasty thing? Do tell.

Sheryl13 My daughter had a 21st birthday party at Paprika’s August 2011, I’d say they did a great job and I would book again for other celebrations! Ignor negitive comments everyone!
