It’s a standard London tourist hotel. It’s clean enough but basic. The curtains don’t fit and if you’re on the road, the rooms are noisy. I’ve stayed in worse but also a lot better.
The place for a couple of nights on business but definitely not the place for a romantic break

One of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Two great steaks, loads of chips and a bottle of wine for thirty quid. Can’t go wrong. A deal to be had most nights but the take away fish & chips needs work.

A cute cinema. Pricey but in keeping with the rest of the town and being the only one for miles it had the monopoly. Not huge so get there early for new releases

It’s an Odeon so you know what to expect. Ridiculous prices, gold plated popcorn, teenage staff who don’t really give a stuff and a Nandos in the foyer. Usual stuff about good sound and comfy seats but for a better experience go to an independent if you can. Soulless.

Tucked into a back street of Bath a real international home of film. Loses a point for being mentally hot on occasion and with occasionally snappy staff

Grab a sofa and a footstool, a decent cup of coffee and perhaps a wee dram and spend the most relaxing evening watching a movie you can imagine. Not cheap mind, but worth a visit.

I love this place. Local cinema where you can still take a beer in. Family run and FAB! Go out of your way to see why we went to the movies. Not your usual soulless conglomerate. This is local cinema at its best!

Nice enough local sort of pub. Good-ish choice of beers and Whisky. Not too young a crowd or too expensive given that it’s St Andrews!

A super country pub. Beer changes regularly and is always interesting and the food has never failed to be of a consistently good quality and fairly priced.
A nice beer garden out the back adds to its overall feel. Mind your head on the low ceilings!
Sunday lunch is a must.

Look at it for what it is. You’re going to pay £14 for an all you can eat buffet. If you’re looking for haute cuisine here, you’re an idiot. BUT that said most of the chefs here are Nepalese, Pakistani or Indian and if you stick to the Indian food you won’t go wrong, as long as you understand the concept of value for money catering!
It certainly beats all the nasty, greasy Chinese buffets that proliferate these days .
The Chinese and Thai stuff isn’t great but it’s some of the better Indian food around. Freshly cooked Naan bread and Chicken Tikka, fresh salads and genuinely good Indian vegetarian cooking. At my last bust they even served Dahi Wada (lentil flour balls in yoghurt) which is specialist to say the least.
Lots of fat customers abound here, for obvious reasons, the huge dessert bar being one. A bit chavvy, noisy and obvious but it’s good value and there is something for everyone.
Good choice of beers but steer clear of the overly sweet cocktails.
