I first went to RVM through a voucher on KGBdeals as it seemed good value and I had been wanting to find a reputible singing tutor for some time.  I was not disappointed!  Gill made me feel comfortable and at ease from the first time we met and made my shyness melt away!  I've now been having singing lessons with Gill for about 6 months and can't believe how my confidence has grown!  RVM have given me the opportunity to sing with a live band and sing songs I never even dreamt of being able to sing and thought were well out of my range.  The lessons are really relaxed and friendly and I always come away from them with a smile on my face.  I hardly even notice that I'm learning half the time as I'm having so much fun!  Would definitely recommend RVM to anyone looking to learn how to improve their voice and build their confidence levels, and more importantly, to enjoy doing so!!!

Well my experience was half and half.  I was getting the GK cut & blow dry deal from KGB Deals.  On arrival, I was greeted by Helen, who was very pleasant, chatty and fully explained the procedure to me.  She washed my hair then sat me back in the chair and put the solution through and carefully laid my hair out straight.  She explained that it would take about an hour, then provided me with some magazines and offered me a tea/coffee.  I was quite content...

...then Dani came on the scene!  Helen had another customer, so when it came time to rinse my hair, I got Dani. After rinsing my hair, she took me back to the chair and plugged in the hairdryer.  I felt a little confused as when booking (with Helen), I was told the deal included a cut, but I assumed she would cut it after drying it.  She then proceeded to burn my head, not once, not twice, but three times with the hair dryer.  After jerking away from her the 1st 2 times, it was only when I shouted "OWW!!" that I received a sullen "Uhh, sorry" from her.  She then scratched my neck with her nails (no apology), leaving me with a lovely 2" long red mark and gouged out pieces on my scalp with her comb.  Next, she brought out the straighteners (you can imagine my fear!).  As she straightened, and got closer and closer to my face, I instinctively leaned further and further away from her!  She kept stopping and yanking my head back to the centre, clearly annoyed and probably wondering why I kept leaning away from her.  Then she poked me in the eye!

After the trauma of the drying and straightening, she asked me if I wanted my ends tidied up.  I answered "Yes please.  If you could take off about 2-3", that would be great".  She agreed, then cut about 1cm off my longest layers.  I was fuming, but by that point I just wanted out of there.  She grumpily tried to sell me the GK Shampoo & Conditioner, which I declined and she got even more nippy.  The fact was I was going to buy the £18 a bottle shampoo/conditioner anyway, as I knew from a friend that you needed it to prolong the GK treatment, but I sure as hell wasn't going to buy anything off her!  I walked out without leaving a tip and jumped on a bus.  On my way home, I stopped at another salon for a dry cut and bought the shampoo/conditioner from them.

To be honest, after I had had my hair cut, it looked really healthy and shiny, so I would recommend the treatment, but after my experience with Dani, I will not be going back to Helen Deans and as my friends have all laughed at my misfortune, I doubt they'll be buying any deals for here either.
