Ive been here a couple of times waiting for my plane back home from Sweden. Although the food is great and Ive never been disappointed by the quality and freshness of the ingredients of the available options, the service is sporadic at best. Depending on the waiter you get it can be a great experience, or a real struggle to get your beer before your flight starts boarding! But compared to many of the other eating options in the departures area this is always my pick to grab something to eat in the evenings.

My manager booked this place as he had heard really great reviews of the place. I think the fact it was difficult to get a table for that night and had to wait until 8 is testemony to the popularity of this resteraunt. A great, friendly mix of people who were all visibly enjoying their evening and their meals.

The wait staff were on the ball, and handed over information so well that we had two waiters through the evening and both knew exactly who was eating/drinking what. They knew the drinks list and menu well and were very good at giving recommendations.

The menu although short, is seasonal and obviously assembled with thought and care. I ordered the soup and the lamb, both which blew my socks off!! It was so good I really didnt want to ruin such a satisfying meal with dessert.

If you are ever in Malmö and looking for a lovely place to go for dinner I would whole heartedly recommend you give Bastard a try as I know I will be heading back there next chance I get!

Great bread and a range of other bakery goods. Also its not the same fare every day so you can occassionally go in and be pleasantly surprised. Its definitly my go to bakery!

The staff are friendly, and its seemingly popular as there are always people in the bakery. There is a nice range of cakes as opposed to the usual sweet breads that are so easy to find around here, so if you want a proper cake then you cant go wrong here. Their bread is pertty good too…beats the crap you get a kamps!

I needed an eye test for my drivers license. The staff were helpful, they thankfully spoke english and did a great job helping me get a new prescription for my contact lenses. They are well organised, minimal waiting times and really friendly. They even re-fitted my glasses when I picked up my contact lenses (that arrived two days after I ordered them!).

We went here on a Thursday night for a nice dinner. Although my friend had picked it based on the fact he thought that it looked like a nice resteraunt on the website, we soon realised it was a more casual dining environment, but cosy, clean and welcoming all the same. It was a busy little resteraunt full of other small groups like us who were looking for a nice night out in the middle of the week.
The service was great, with the waiter addressing me and my german friend in our native languages (he had obviously notices as he did it unprompted), and made sure we were ok for drinks and food all night.
The food was great; it was fresh, tasty and well prepared. To be honest I would have been happy sitting there all night drinking warm sake and wasabi peas…but I ordered the wellness platter, and the salmon sushami was absolutly the highlight of the meal for me. The california rolls my friend had were a little below the rest of the meal, but still damn good sushi in its own right. My only regret was that I didnt try the green tea icecream for dessert!
Its a lovely little resteraunt and next time I am in Bonn and looking for sushi I will sure to return to Kugelfisch for some more of their sushi (and icecream). Definitly some of the best asian food ive had since Ive moved to Europe, and it converted my friend who was till then a sushi virgin over to the fishy side lol.

Really enjoyed my evening there. Its smoke free earlier in the evening…and for me thats a definite plus. Its got decent wine and beer (again a plus!). Great playlist and nice atmosphere. I think Ill be heading back there next time i need a midweek drink with friends in Bonn :)

Friendly bar staff, nice crowd and good beer…what more can you ask for on a friday night? I really enjoyed it there, although i could do with slightly less cigarette smoke! Im looking foward to going back and trying an alcoholic milkshake before I start on the beer!

A friend and I went here to go out for a nice dinner. I had been recommended the place as having really good authentic korean food, and my friend being in the mood for something new and exotic I thought I would take the opportunity to check the place out.

Half way between Zülpicherplatz and Barbarossaplatz its really easy to find and definitly looks clean, open and inviting. However that was where it finished. When we walked in we were met by a lady who told us that the place was booked out and we would have to wait for a table (despite no reservation signs and the resteraunt being half empty). Luckiily a couple were leaving so we got to sit down pretty quickly to have a meal. After about 15 minutes someone finally came to take our order.

Although the food came quickly that was about the only thing that seemed on the ball that night. We had to almost tackle one of the wait staff to ask for a fork for my friend, and rather than obbliging decided to argue with him that having a spoon and chopsticks should be enough before giving in. Then after finishing our first glass of wine we finished out meal before they came to offer anohter. Then once our dishes were cleared they came to take our order (again?) due to some sort of confusion as to whether we had been served or not. All in all the service was a big let down as the atmosphere and feel of the resteraunt is quite pleasant.

And it is a good thing that their food is of reasonable quality for asian food in germany. Although not that authentic (my dish was labelled spice, and Im sure eating a capsicum would have been spicier than my dish!) it is still true to the korean cuisine and quite tasty albiet siginificantly modified for the german palat.

As long as your looking to have a long meal and not after alot of friendly service then this is a nice place to go. Its easy to have a converstation, comfortable, good food and a good selection in both korean and german (no english menu). At the end of the day its worth a try, but dont reserve it for a special occassion or you might be disappointed.
