Passione - Fitzrovia
10 Charlotte Street, Fitzrovia, London W1T 2LT

Very good Italian food made from top-end ingredients. Service was excellent. Overall a very good experience, though a little noisy inside as the design is fairly bare/minimalist.
Felix Bar, Peninsula Hotel - Hong Kong
Salisbury Road, The Peninsula, 28th/Fl./Kowloon, Hongkong

Even though you are unlikely to be able to afford staying at the Peninsula Hotel, you can still pretend and enjoy the incredible view across the harbour to Hong Kong Island from the Felix Bar on the 28th floor.
The bar is as slick as you would expect and the light-show at night is well worth the expensive drinks. You probably won’t stay for long but its worth a few to start off your night before heading over to Lan Kwai Fong for the night out. Gents, make sure you use the glass-walled toilet for a hell of a view.

Very good cheap malaysian meals, especially at lunch. Lots of variety and good sized dishes all for about £6 each. Well worth a visit.
Flat White Espresso Bar - Soho
17 Berwick Street, Soho, London W1F 0PT

Excellent coffees made in the New Zealand style. Staff (all Kiwis) are very friendly and the short-black is fantastic. It does get very busy though so you will wait a long time and there isn’t much in the way of seating. Prices are also pretty high (£1.80 for espresso/short black) but you won’t find better quality.
The Elusive Camel - Victoria

Not bad pub, seems busy enough but quite formulaic and nothing special. Went to watch the football this weekend and they said they don’t show it. Fine if you’re in the area or meeting someone but not one to go out of your way for.
Como y Punto - Brixton
94-95 Granville Arcade, Brixton, London SW9 8PS

Very friendly Colombian cafe right on the Coldharbour Lane end of Brixton Village market. Always busy with South Americans meeting and eating. The food is good and hearty, lots of rice, cassava, cornbread and plantain with the dishes. Portions are large and very reasonable (~£6-£7) for the size, especially the breakfast.
The Canterbury Arms - Brixton
8 Canterbury Crescent, Brixton, London SW9 7QD

Good proper drinking pub. Great for watching football with a good crowd and always lots of banter. Gets livelier in the evenings and even have the odd dj nights in the big room through the back.
The Prince - Brixton

Good pub/bar in the centre of Brixton. At night, they have good djs and a fun crowd on the dancefloor.
Haven’t eaten here but seems pretty popular. Free wifi.
Johanssons - Camberwell

Very good and cheap Thai meals in the evening. The cafe/restaurant is lovely and fun, the food fresh and tasty.
Best of all it is BYOB with a small corkage fee (£2 I think). They are not licensed so make sure you pickup a nice bottle of wine on the way.
Spice n Nice Bakery - Camberwell
8a Coldharbour Lane, Camberwell, London SE5 9PR

My favourite jerk chicken shop in Camberwell/Brixton. The rice and peas is fantastic and you can have with or without their lovely jerk sauce. They also sell patties by the dozen and other caribbean snacks.
It is always packed with customers and open from early to late. Make a point of visiting if you’re in the area.
