This has to be my favourite place in Cardiff, whether you want to have a healthy home-made amazing vegetarian meal, smoothie or yummy fresh cocktail this place has something for everyone. Full of arty and vintage touches, comfy couches, a yurt and great little garden, it has a really great social atmosphere without being pretencious. They also run a lot of events such as supper nights, art club, curry club and vintage fairs. They often have chilled DJ's and the staff are always friendly and very helpful. I also love the changing food menu - they use local food and I have never been disappointed.

I love this late night Cafe bar, a great place where you can get a beer, coffee, cake or a snack pretty much anytime of the day. Very friendly and relaxed staff, great atmosphere with board games and comfy sofas upstairs. A chilled out haven in the city

The Potted Pig - Cardiff

We had the lunch special at The Potted Pig and it was amazing - really great service and knowledgable staff, food was 5 star and being lunch time they run a really reasonably priced lunch menu. The atmosphere is really special since it is based in the old bank vaults under the city. Highly recommended - a place to try in Cardiff for sure.

Wow what a choice of fresh loose leaf tea and amazing coffee, Also displays local art and is very popular with locals - which can sometimes mean you cannot get a seat, especially on sundays for high and cream teas - so book in advamce. Very cute..wonderful atmosphere and knowledgable staff

Such a cute little gift/traditional sweet shop with an excellent Cafe, lots of choice - salads, pannins, fresh coffee and wonderful cake. It gets very busy though and can be a tight squeeze as it's very popular with locals, although they do have an outside area when it's sunny. Well worth a visit - amazing decor

I know this place is well know to Cardiff as it's been there for years and I suppose maybe it was my fault for expecting more but the service was very very slow and the menu boring and the interior very dated. I went there with my 65yr old mother thinking it was somewhere nice and quite and a place that would be well suited to her but even she was unimpressed - I think it's really aimed at the very old generation. Perhaps because there are some really fantastic places to eat in the area this seems to fall short somewhat. The food was also uninspiring and very little healthy options. It's not a bad cafe it's simply very ordinary and the women waitress was alittle scruffy - maybe it was just a bad day? Just trying to be honest - there are far better places to spend your money.

Very cool bar on long street thats open during the day through to the early hours. Live DJ's playing mainly low down loung and hip hop. Various street artist work hangs on the walls. Always busy, great atmostphere.

Hôtel Negresco - Rue de France Nice

I havn't stayed at this hotel but I have ate in the quirky and somewhat strange Carnival tea room. This place is Kitsch to the max and quirky would be an understatement. But it's a great experience and reasonably priced for Nice, the lemon tea and cake I had was really good. I would recommend going here as it really does offer something different.

What a great place for a holiday with a difference. I went there with my boyfriend for his birthday and it was fantastic. We stayed in a tipi and cooked on open fires at night. Baskets of cut wood are provided, as well as fresh free range eggs from there chickens and ducks every morning. Next time I want to stay in one of the yurts. Beautiful setting and they are very eco friendly and power alot of things from their wind turbines and solar panels. Great for families, couples and young people
