McDonald's Restaurant - Chelmsford

36-37 High Street, Chelmsford, Essex CM1 1BE

22-01-2009

This has recently had a revamp so its not looking like its picture here, its gone green! I dont know why they did that, it looks horrible lol. But anyways, the inside is ok, the food is the same asall the other McDonalds in the country.
I recommend Mcflurries, only a quid and so tasty (crunchie = yum). The burgers are not on par with Burger King, i think, but they ae still tasty, and they are cheaper. The store has lots of till areas so you dont have to wait long, even at lunchtime. Its kept nice and clean and the toilets ar also okay to use.

Superdrug Stores - Chelmsford

15-19 High Street, Chelmsford, Essex CM1 1BE

This store is better than Boots because you find the same stuff just cheaper! There arent the huge name brands to be had at Boots, but the basic bits are a lot cheaper.
The special offers are frequent too and very generous. Lots of offers on face wipes and shower gels/shampoos. You rarely need to pay full price on anything you need in this shop, yay! The christmas clearance is very very good, my friend snapped up some good quality hair straightners for £3.00!! Unbelievable!
Theres a few deals on make up, but not usually too many unfortunately. The store can get a bit busy during the day and the aisles are a bit narrow so it ca be a bit awkward to get around.
Keep an eye out for the clearance shelf too, the stuff is only dented so its perfectly ok to use, just not looking so pretty.

Linens Direct - Chelmsford

Few bargains to be had in this store. The tea towels are cheap. Other bits and bobs I recommend are cushion covers, oven gloves and throws.
I think the curtains and duvet covers are a bit pricey really, I saw them a lot cheaper in Roseby’s (though to be fair they went into administration :() The cutains are good quality though for the money you pay. There is a limit on choice though. I couldnt find any red or white curtains that I was after. Some of the designs can be a bit hideous too.
The duvet covers are quite pretty, but a bit pricey. Im not sure of the quality because there are not any display models on show.
The bargain bins near the front of the store are good, if your after little nick nacks, maybe stocking fillers?
The staff are friendly too if you need any help.

universal studios - Orlando

Orlando

This is one of my favs in Florida, I love this park. I went back again and again. The best ride has to be The Mummy. Its fast, forwards, backwards, flame, smoke….brilliant! Apparently this replaced King Kong and they left the head inside as it was too big to be removed. You can spot it at some point round the ride but I was always to busy screaming. Men in black is fun too, good for all ages. A sneaky trick a staff member told my boyfriend and I, when the ride is quiet, just go round the parent and child exit so you dont have to see the video again and go through the huge queing area.
The queuing areas at both universal parks are always well ventilated and covered incase of a sudden storm. There was a storm while I was at the studios and they shut the rides whilst it is going on (safety I assume). The storm does not last long and soon the park is back to normal again.
The Simpsons ride is popular as it is new so get on it early is you can. The wait even with a fastpass was very long in my opinion.
The ride Jaws is a bit poor, but everyone in your family can get on it and have a laugh, it is not scary at all.
I recommend not taking a bag, you can wear a bumbag on all the rides and not take it off. I believe on Men in Black you are not allowed to wear bags.

Walt Disney World: Epcot - Paris

12 rue de Capri, 75012 Paris

Worst of all the parks I visited. It was busy as heck! If you go, go early. The best ride, test track is the parks only redeeming feature, it is fast! ver very fast! Get fast passes for this one definetly. I did not get to see much else because the queues were so long! So again, go early!!
This park lacks many shady spaces to sit down (why are so many seats made of metal?).
Its not a very big park so you can get it all done i about half a day (depending on queuing of course)
So folks, go early (I went during school term time, was still crazy busy!) and go on test track.

universal islands of adventure - Orlando

Universal Studios Plaza 1000, FL 32819 Orlando

Better then Disney, yes I said it. The rides are excellent. I would say maybe more suited to older kids than younger ones as there are more 'thriller’ rides to smaller child friendly ones.
Go on the hulk, go on duelling dragons. Try and sit at the front on both. If you go on duelling dragons turn left and go on the red dragon, far better than blue. Theres a sneaky tunnel at the exit of duelling dragons to save you going round to the front of the queue again so keep an eye out for it.
Foodwise, the ribs are tasty (so says my boyfriend) and the salads are too (says me). The icey slush drinks are yummy too (but colour your tongue blue/red) great for keeping cool. It gets very hot and there isnt much shade, so wear a hat!

Also I would suggest wearing a bumbag, no cool points but you dont need to take it off for any of the rides!!

disneys typhoon lagoon - Orlando

Orlando

I prefer this to blizzard beach, especially because of the tropical theme. It makes you feel like your in the caribbean. The music and theming throughout the park is fantastic. The rides are fun too, but there isnt the huge slide like at blizzard beach.
The wave pool is fab, but gets busy so prepare to be bashed and kicked when the giant wave comes along.
I would recommend getting a big locker to share amongst yourselves, the smaller ones are too small.
Definetely wear sunscreen!! The water only makes the suns rays more powerful, so you will get burnt!
I would suggest water shoes too, the ground gets BOILING in the heat, which is a nightmare when queuing for rides.

Cici's Pizza - Orlando

International Drive 7437, 32819 Orlando

22-01-2009

The best pizza I have ever tasted. Freshly made, there is a great buffet selection of al types of pizza available. You pay about $4.50 and then its all you can eat.
You can have pasta, salad, pizza and desserts - all included in the price. Also if they don have out a pizza you are after you can ask and they will make one for you there and then, taking about half an hour at most. The pizza is so fresh, you can see them making it over the counter. Its so cheap, tasty and filling. Anyone please go to this restaurant!
I wish they would come over to the u.k. PLEASEEEEEEEE!!

Poundstretcher - Maldon

I tend to use this store to buy toilet rolls and custard!! It sounds weird but you get really odd bargains at this place. Its the only place Ive seen you can still get a can of sparkling ribena and orange sunkist (yums). They sell homewares, such as rugs and linens, but to be honest the quality is not the best. There is often bargain luggage available, which I have used on holiday twice and was fine.
There are good deals on chocolate bars, one of the few places left now woolies has gone. Also you can get some tinned food, tuna, salmon, soups. Sometimes these have pretty decent offers on so its quite handy.

Crusty Loaf - Maldon

101 High Street, Maldon, Essex CM9 5EP

I love this bakery. My favourite is the white crusty bloomer, fab with a bit of strawberry jam!! The staff here are lovely, always a nice little chat to be had. This place can get busy at lunchtimes though and the shop is very small so I would try and avoid this time if possible. The cakes are very tasty, a good range on offer. They taste very fresh and look very homemade (which I mean in a good way!). Very clean and hygienic shop, I recommend it to family and friends.
