The Standing Order - Stevenage

The Standing Order is your average Weatherspoon pub but appears popular with the locals. This may be due to the manager. I've had breakfast there and nothing was a bother to the manageress Curry nights on a Thursday attract many. It gives value for money to the extent that other venues in town are imitating Standing Order

I have good and bad days at The Proverbial. The good ones relate to the time when the young new manager is around. He's ever so enthusiastic to promote his premises to the local businesses. There are also a couple of good staff behind the bar and serving food The latter is ok, nothing to write home about As for the bad days- rather bad nights- they relate to big football nights- City v/s Utd comes to mind last month. The staff could have been more welcoming/helpful instead many couldn't be bothered

Plume of feathers of Little Wymondley - Hitchin

Little Wymondley is a little English village in the heart of Hertsfordshire and in it is The Plume of Feathers. This is an English pub which serves fresh cooked food. It is a well managed pub where the couple in charge appears to run a tight ship whilst nothing is a bother when it comes satisfying the needs of their clients The food is superb and at a very reasonable price. If you find yourself in The Stevenage - Hitchin area, make it a point to have dinner there and I hope like me, you will not be disappointed. The only problem one may encounter, is that now and again they run out of their Abbot's Ale.

The Walkford - Christchurch

I first drank at The Walkford 22 years ago Since then that pub has improved tremendously. Its great marketing backed up by friendly staff, recent renovation and fantastic prices for food and beverages need recognising. It is a great place with 'booming' atmosphere to visit especially on a Friday's Happy Hour(s)- happy not only because of the prices but for the characters you meet there. It is a combination of local punters and happy tradesmen. The atmosphere is electric and very friendly. Well done Walkford. Keep it up Louis

This is mine and my wife’s local. We have been coming to Peeble Beach Restaurant ever since it’s been opened. We have seen it grown year after year and the arrival of Pierre Chevillard from Chewton Glen Hotel was to prove a massive improvement
Pierre and his staff provide us the guests with an assortment of excellent dishes. Whether it is succulence or value for money, one is looking for, it is found at The Peeble Beach.
I have been lucky enough to have visited many restaurants in some 90 countries including France and genuinely believe that my local, rates among the best
