I asked for a quote from whom I guess is the man in charge and he was one really nasty guy - his temper turned threatening when I wouldn't say how much another mechanic had quoted for the same job (I didn't want any chance of undercutting/bad standards to occur). I was genuinely shocked that somebody could act like that.

So my advice is avoid these guys at all costs. People like that don't deserve the business. N A Motors, down the road are more customer friendly though I can't vouch for their work just yet.

umi13 Hi, Just heard about your bad experience at this garage and I am genuinely sorry. The guy who dealt with you is not the owner and does not normally deal with the public. The owner is a really professional, nice, honest chap who has had experience in this trade for 35 yrs. In fact he has been there for nearly 30 yrs. He is distressed at hearing this.Unfortunately he broke his ankle 2 wks ago and is on crutches. His employees phoned him up immediately and he went in yesterday against the doctors advice. So if you were brave enough to go back after your awful experience. Speak to the chap on crutches as I am sure he would give you an apology and without speaking to him I cannot say- but he would probably give you a discount or something if you had problems with your car in the future.

I apologise if I named the wrong person as the owner. I made the assumption as this guy was clearly the man in charge.

I felt compelled to review this garage because of the manner of this guy I dealt with was genuinely unacceptable, I'm no wallflower but I walked out of the garage feeling like I got assaulted. I felt like I had to let people know and will continue to do so. I don't go round giving bad reviews nilly-willy. It's all honest and I can sleep easy with that.

Tell the owner that I am truly sorry for the inaccuracy and tell him to remind the other guy that he's not an gangster, he's an employee. I won't forget that, nor should he.

I was there last Friday - the staff were nice and friendly, they always had a smile on their faces and were attentive. Food was well priced and portions generous. The fish tasted fresh.

Definitely recommended.
