J'ai séjourné dans "291 Suites" en Février 2008. À cette époque, le site internet mettait bien en valeur l'hôtel avec de belles chambres, des réductions dans le restaurant et surtout le site indiquait que l'hôtel était situé à quelques minutes à pied de la station de métro.
En aucun cas des travaux ou autre type de construction n'ont été mentionné. Nous nous sommes rendus à pied pour trouver la station de métro la plus proche mais le trajet était un peu plus long que prévu (pour preuve, j'ai eu des ampoules au pied!) et il y avait beaucoup de travaux de construction en cours, les couloirs étaient très poussiéreux, et le restaurant du bas qui promettait une réduction avait changé de politique et n'accordait plus aucune remise aux clients de l'hôtel. Le seul point positif de cet établissement était notre chambre qui était belle, nous y avons séjourné 4 nuits et j'ai été heureux d'être dans cette chambre joliment décorée, lumineuse et aérée, avec tous les équipements promis. Nous en avons eu une excellente impression générale sauf pour la douche qui nous a causé des problèmes! En effet, la douche était censée être très puissante avec plusieurs types de jets. Même si elle n'était pas aussi puissante que prévu, nous ne savions même pas quels jets fonctionnaient et nous avons passé la plupart de notre temps entassés dans le coin de la douche à essayer d'éviter les jets d'eau chaude et froide! Nous avons perdu beaucoup de temps pour prendre une simple douche!
Le premier soir, nous avons rapidement découvert que des pigeons nichaient dans un trou au-dessus de notre fenêtre et ne semblaient pas dormir. Nous avions un pigeon qui a roucoulé toute la nuit, et si nous n'avions pas utilisé des boules quiès, nous n'aurions pas réussi à beaucoup dormir.
Mais des bouchons d'oreilles n'épargne pas beaucoup du bruit car le lendemain matin nous avons été réveillé par les travaux dans une chambre voisine et ce dès 8h du matin tous les jours où nous avons séjourné dans l'hôtel.
Encore une fois nous n'avions pas été averti que des travaux allaient avoir lieu et rien n'a été préparé pour que cela ne se produise. Nous avons principalement pris une chambre à Londres parce que nous devions arriver très tard dans la nuit et nous avions besoin d'être réveillé le matin de bonne heure. Une fois, nous sommes rentré d'une excursion pour nous préparer avant de sortir le soir et nous nous sommes rendus compte que l'eau était coupée ce qui nous a empêché de nous préparer avant de sortir, et comme beaucoup le savent, après avoir passé la journée dans les magasins et dans le métro, on a besoin de prendre une douche en rentrant, et pourtant personne n'a pensé à nous en informer. Comme nous devions rentrer, nous avons demandé le remboursement d'au moins une partie du coût du séjour mais on nous a dit que nous devions en faire la demande par e-mail, ce que nous avons fait à notre retour. Nous n'avons pas reçu de réponse, c'est pourquoi nous avons appelé l'hôtel et une personne nous a informé que nous devions les contacter à une autre adresse mail et qu'elle allait s'en charger personnellement, mais n'est jamais revenue vers nous. Finalement nous avons renoncé à essayer d'obtenir quelque chose de leur part. Dans l'ensemble, la chambre était agréable mais ils pourraient être un peu plus honnête concernant quelques petits "détails". Je serais probablement resté encore quelques jours de plus seulement s'ils avaient procédé à quelques changements dans leur établissement.

Nice enough pub to look at, shame about the locals who went on an all day bender before attending a gig..
I liked the layout of the pub, it had a good feel to it, the beer was reasonably priced and the staff were friendly and talkative.
I don’t, however, consider it a good place to host live music, the room in question was extremely tiny for the amount of people that crammed in, I got stuck underneath one of the speakers and it wasn’t particularly pleasant, and as I said, some of the local had had a wee bit too much to drink and took to yelling random songs every 5 seconds and generally causing a kerfuffle.
Over all, nice pub, just not for live music..

I had the pleasure of visiting this pub not that long back, went in because it looked unusual and wasn’t disappointed, nice atmosphere, the pub is very deceptive, its much bigger inside than it looks from outside.
Nice and friendly with reasonably priced beer, can’t ask for much more!

I like subway, I like being able to chose exactly what I want on my sandwich, but usually I order some thing pretty standard, and had a really hard time in trying to get my sandwich in this particular shop, I basically had to walk the guy through my order step by step because he didn’t have a clue! It was nothing special, or unusual, on the menu. I didn’t leave a happy bunny!
But when I did eventually get my sandwich it was of the usual standard and I’d be happy to go there again..just so long as that guy doesn’t serve me again!

Ah, the KFC that thinks they are adequately staffed when they have one person serving at the tills and the queue is starting to curl round the back of the seating area.
Foods ok, but I’ve been put off eating by the sight of rats hanging around on the drive thru road. This was the middle of the day and there was about 3 or 4 rats in the general area of the restaurant. Having never actually seen that any where else, esp not during the day, it doesn’t give me much confidence in hygiene standards…

Bit of a mish mash shop, in here you can find dvd and games for rent, then games and dvds to buy, preowned games consoles and hardware, and if that wasn’t enough, also computer hardware and software.
Have often found imported games for the nintendo DS in there which is always interesting as some you can’t get over here, or in some cases, can buy them before they are realise in this country.
The staff are very helpful and pleasant, one even let me buy a postman pat dvd that was up for rent after my 2yo spotted it, can’t say fairer than that!
Its a bit out of the way on Gas street, but worth the effort.

I’m a frequent visitor to this branch of game station.
They are good for preowned games, and quite often have found a bargain unboxed game for my kids.
I recently bought a preowned nintendo wii and found the staff to be great when it came to helping me find what I’d need and what was best to buy, and even when I came back to change a game a week later (as I discovered we had basically the same on in another format) they were happy to change it for me and did it without a fuss.
The chain as a whole is a good one, and this shop is one worth visiting just incase you find some thing lurking!

A pub I’ve enjoyed going in in the past, during the day, they serve decent food, the drinks are always nice, service can be a bit hit and miss depending on how busy they are.
As the name suggests, they are next to the cannel and have a seating area that stretches out over it which is nice, but they do need to get their patio heaters sorted out as it gets cold out in leigh and most of them won’t fire up, so unless I want to sit outside wrapped up to the nines, I sit indoors.
Its nice enough, and a pub I will keep visiting.

Fairly new shop in Leigh, has a good stock of stuff in, but I’ve found that the staff could be a bit more geared up on whats what, stuff is labelled up in one way, but the staff tell you some thing different (for example xbox with no leads, marked as having no leads, but you find out its got more wrong with it than first suggested on the label. Not exactly helpful!)
Naturally, always a good place to go if you need quick cash for goods, and has all the usual services of cheque cashing, payday advance etc that you’d expect from a pawn shop.

Nice pub, decent pint of Guinness to be had (and thats the most important thing right?) Patrons seem to be on the older side, which is not a bad thing of course, but I’ve often felt the youngest one in there at the grand old age of 26 (and the only woman in there apart from the girl behind the bar..)
Often have live music in of the decent sort, the drink is nice and cheap, its overall a nice little pub and one I enjoy going in regardless :-)
